The bacteria may die due to dessication(drying out) because water is attracted to sodium. The sodium draws out moisture and stops life sustaining activities. This is why most bacteria cant survive on the skin, its too salty. There are certain kinds of bacteria that thrive in salty environments, like the staph. that covers your skin. I dont remember which kinds of bacteria cause the sore throat but this is worth trying. P.S. salt will not kill viurses because their not alive in the first place.

Didn’t work for me. I can’t help but swallow as the taste is horrible. But it turns out that I have strep so thats probably why it didn’t work.

@SoftwareReviewExpert in that case your mum got her MD from a rice bubble box. your not suppose to drink it retard just let a little bit so the sodium chloride (salt) coat the throat WHICH IS WHAT ALL HOSPITALS USE REGULARLY. (5 years as RN on ed ward)

@SuperKnight3744 you don’t have salt in your house, now come on?
July 16th, 2010 - 03:50
@SuperKnight3744 who does unless you work in a restaurant. i had the same problem, i just went to the doctor and got antibiotics. I was reading a little further about this. And sometimes it could be a viral infection or bacteria. The nurse practitioner just did a swab of my throat which that qu tip almost me me gag. I couldn’t imagine sticking that down my throat. But your right, its hard to find.

I was up at 3am this morning in excruciating pain from a sore throat, and was about to head to the emergency room because I couldn’t swallow at all… not even saliva.
In desperation, i started surfing and found this video. Let me tell you… HOLY crap does this actually work! I didnt have a salt shaker, so i used a small teaspoon and put a small amount of salt onto it, and down the back of my throat. 5 hrs later, NO PAIN!!!!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

September 6th, 2010 - 20:24
is it supposed to burn ?
September 8th, 2010 - 08:38
if u took just simple biology class , u should know why this works. Bacteria in your throat are filled with h2o, water, and salt makes them dehydrate… or dry them out… which kills them immediately.
