Would using an oil free moisturizer help with blackheads and acne? Ingredients to avoid?
I don't get pimples very much but I get blackheads, even on my body (like on breasts). For my face I do have oily/combination skin. I've realized my moisturizers have mineral oil in them. If I switch to oil free moisturizers and lotions, will that help? The blackheads on my nose are bad and never go away, I was thinking of getting those strips and starting up with new, oil free moisturizer.
Is the ingredient glycerin ok? I read that as an ingredient in an advertised oil free moisturizer from Biore, which I may try. Anyone know of other ingredients to avoid for keeping blackheads away?
Also, I'm an adult in my mid-twenties, so it's not just raging hormones.
Not using moisturizer isn't an option. Thanks for the other helpful information though

Ingredients are too complicated. What you should look for are the words "non-comedogenic" (it is a scientific measurement of "won’t clog pores").
Glycerin is an oil, recommended for dry skin. You can actually use some lightly-oiled products (you do need a moisturizer, which is actually a seal for moisture and oil does that). It’s learning what works for you… and when: you might need different products for different times of day.

ive got oilycombination skin myself, i also get the ocasional blackheads on my nose too sometimes, when it comes to black heads, i like to squeeze them out, but as soon as im done that i cleanse my face with deep cleanser then astringent to take away any left over dirt or oil. Blackheads are not pimples, its sebum, which is oil that forms up in your pores, and once it reaches the top layer of your face, it hardens and turns black or mostly that its seen dark.
if you do have oily skin, or somewhat oily, id stay away from moisturizers, moisture is just like feeding your skin more oils.. i think the more you put on your face, the more it clogs and just makes things worse.. for make-up.. i use almay..its got a clear cap and is in the shape of a rectangle, walmarts got it for 11 bucks.. its a liquid makeup, is specially formulated for combination skin, and helps prevent pimples and blackheads, and its oil free, and doesnt rub off by mid day..
the strips are good too, if you still cant get your skin back to what you want it to be, see a dermatologist, and proactive is great too , but see what a doctor would say, hope i helped.

yes, you should switch to an oil free moisturizer.
but you should know…
when your face is oily, it is easier for blackheads to produce in the sides of your nose, between the bottom of your nose and stache area, chin area and between the brow.
when your face is dry, you might start to notice you get more pimples.
