Will this routine clear up my skin?
I'm a 15 year old girl with combination oily/dry skin and pretty severe acne. Will doing this clear me up in a few weeks?
Morning- Clean and Clear's morning burst shine control facial cleanser and oil free moisturizer
When I get home from school-Wash off make up with moistruizing cleanser
Before bed-Wash face with Aveeno's exfoliating skin brightening cleanser and apply differn (topical prescribed by dermotologist)
Once a week-Peel off facial mask
If I do this, wear less make up, pull back my bangs at night and drink lots of water will my skin clear up within 3 weeks?
any other ideas?
thanks :)

sulfur based soaps work on drying things up a lot
same with like creams to put on before you go to bed
all of the things you’re working should work as long as you’re gentle
do no make the mistake of thinking "if i was a lot it will clear up" or "if i scrub really hard it will go away"….no that just makes it worse and the more you wash in a day…it will still be the same as if you washed it once
maybe try using some makeup that is mineral based so it won’t be a bad for your skin
i wish i knew more to help
good luck! :]

I think so! Its always good to keep your skin protected from the sun at all times, so make sure your moisturizer has some kind of SPF in it. I’m pretty sure Clean and Clear Shine Control does, so you should be good to go!

If you stick strictly to this routine you should be okay. However, I wouldn’t use the Morning Burst cleanser, shine control means oil control and that product does not work. Is the moisturizing cleanser a cream? If your skin is oily you should stay away from creams and use a gel or foaming cleanser.

Try to avoid masks and things that exfoliate (or in other words take your skin off)! From experience these tend to do more harm than good, since one of the major reasons you skin breaks out is because it is damaged or irritated. I would suggest using a gentle skin cleanser (that does not contain soap) like vichy 3 in 1 cleanser. (which works well to remove makeup too) wash your face only twice a day and try to limit the amount of makeup you wear. When I had really bad acne, i found that the only topical cream that really worked was benzoyl peroxide. I found this website and followed what this guy says to do, and in 2 weeks my face looked exponentially better.

I will say that benzoyl peroxide will make your face peely at first, which is why it is really important to use good moisturizer (like cetaphyl) but in the end it really will pay off
good luck!

I shouldn’t wash your face so much…it actually can make it worse. Twice a day is all you should do. In the morning (possibly when your showering) then before you go to bed, wash off all your make-up.
An exfoliating mask once a week is really good. But not the peel off ones. They just rip your hair off. Use ones that wash away with warm water. Remember to be very gentle when washing your face.
I don’t know if it’ll clear up in 3 weeks, (it take pimples 2 weeks to emerge) but it will start looking better.
And if that doesn’t work, I recommend seeing a naturopath or dermatologist if your skin really bothers you.
