  1. NO! It will lighten them. scars don’t tan. Mederma and bio oil are your best bets. then use an in the can tanner that matches your skin to rub on yourself before prom. make sure the color is right for you though.

  2. well using a tanning bed might cover scars a little bit, but i wouldn’t try it if i were you.
Using tanning beds, in the long run, is horrible for your skin, later on it will cause even more problems to it.
    not sure about miderma though.
You should see a dermatologist and see what they would recommend for you skin.
    good luck =]

  3. Find an Arbonne cosmetic dealer in your area. For $18 you can get an oil that you put on 1-3 x a day. You don’t need much and it significantly helps the scar fade. You should stay away from tanning beds all together. I don’t understand the fake bake, Go natural! You are you and I’d rather have someone like me for who I am instead of "fake" me.

  4. About 4 years ago, I got poison ivy on my thighs and it left scars so I had the same problem. Tanning did help the problem, it made the hundred scars on my body less visible, but I don’t like to tan, that’s just me.

So yes, tanning is probably the best way for your scars to look less visible by prom. I wouldn’t use scar-fading or healing products like Mederma until after you’re completely done tanning at the salon, because it could irritate those areas and make them look even worse but afterhand, I would consider using a scar-healing product (about $30 at Wal-Mart) or seeing a dermatologist to permenantly fade your scars. I’ve been using Mederma since Christmas and it’s already starting to work well.
