Why is my brand new spot treatment making pimples worse on the very first night?
I JUST bought a new spot treatment. It's the first spot treatment I have ever purchased, considering I am 13 and rarely have acne. I don't know why, but after the first use my pimples seem even more red. The second it touched my skin, it burned! Once I used my finger to spread it out, it calmed down. I am really nervous that I will break out for school tomorrow. Did I buy a bad product, or is it normal for a product to not work the very first time? Should I stop using it, or should I wait it out a few days?
Okay thank you! I understand that I made a mistake. I put too much on, and I thought I could just rub it around the other skin (bc it was a cluster of pimples).

Same here.
Don’t worry about it, because my spot treatment burns like he.ll when I put it on my zits at first, but then the burning goes away. I put spot treatment on at night, so the very first night I put it on a new zit, if it’s really small, it disappears, if not; it may be red around it, and make it look worse, which is what happens with me, so that’s also an indicator to put less on the area around the pimple. Try your best to make sure it only goes on the actual pimple, and not the skin surrounding it. But, if after only one day, it looks like it only got worse…keep using it. Usually it takes two times using spot treatment on a certain zit to see any good difference. So, don’t expect miracles to happen, cause even though it may claim to be invisible in 24 hours (!!); it probably won’t work that quickly. Make sure you cleanse thoroughly before applying spot treatment. Also, don’t put too much, cause that will do nothing as well. Just put a decent amount on, and don’t touch it. Follow a daily routine-you should start seeing results in no time! Good luck! :)

since you don’t normally have acne and you probably don’t use many different facial products, your skin must’ve just reacted to it. people say your skin reacts to new products, but then get used to it. try it out for a few more days and if your skin gets worse, throw the product out.
