which makeup is better to hide acne blemishes?
hi, i don't have like severe severe acne, but it is irritating because it will not go away! i have tried several over the counter and gels from the doctor, but it does not leave :(
part of this is the oil makeup i use. so which oil free foundation works best? the maybelline pure concealer with the pure powder or the maybelline pure makeup?
thanks :)
junk food has nothing to do with breakouts - ask a doctor if you don't believe me.
the loose powder is oil free and says covers up blemishes and the concealer has acne medicine

I would use one with something to fight acne in it, like if it contains salicylic acid. I know there’s one by Neutrogena that you can get in drugstores. There are also loads that you can get online or in stores like Sephora. I like Cosmedicine acne gel, and I just bought the tinted moisturizer/foundation one with the acne stuff in it. I really like it :) Some people think it’s pricey, but if you just use a thin coating (which you should if you have acne anyway) it lasts a while.

It’s not going away because you keep putting junk in it.
For a few days, don’t eat any junk food, and wash your face at least twice a day, no makeup at all.
Watch your skin get better.
Edit: Food DOES have an effect on breakouts. I knew someone with really acne, and their doctor had them cut dairy out of there diet for a while.
And your ‘acne medicine concealer’ is a load of bull. Those acne medicines don’t treat acne, only the individual pimples, and they don’t do anything to stop the spead of the acne.
Now, since you only have mild acne, the only way to get rid of it is eating well and keeping your face clean.

first of all,
ive had acne for soo many years and the doctor gave me a birth control called diane-35 and these face wipes called clindets

but for makeup i recommend mac concealers.
worked for me! :)
just remember to get your right shade, and think of how you might get a tan in the summer so dont go too light or dark

Okay well start off by keep in your skin clean and well by doing third routine every day: wash rinse moisturize ant-acne medications for on the spot treatment 2 times a day(wake up before Bed) then after moisturizing use a good concealer that you feel comfortable with then apply an ant-shine powder to set it so it won’t melt off. I do this and my skin looks and feels great without looking caked on.

Almay concealer is great because it covers up acne and treats it as well.

i use CoverGirl Aquasmooth and sometimes i use Revlon Colorstay foundation. they both work fairly well at hiding acne.

MAKEUP IS HORRIBLE ON ACNE!! YOU WILL MAKE IT WORSE!!!!! DONT COVER IT UP!! LEAVE IT OPEN. if you leave it open uncovered, it heals faster. but if you go around covering it up, be prepared to cover it for the next couple decades honey cuz it aint going no where.

Actually, I suggest Neutrogena Mineral Sheers powder foundation w/ SPF 20, or i.d. bareMinerals. Mineral Foundation all the way! =]
I suggest clearing it up first, I go up and down with my acne and wearing makeup always makes it worse makes it worse, but i totally understand wanting to cover it up.

I have light acne occasionally and exema on my face which is almosy impossible to cover(thank god its only during winter though) and I use MAC’s concealer( The Select Coverup in Liquid form) and I love it ecause it covers redness and everything but is light enough that it doesn’t hide my freckles.

Firstly, a common problem with acne, especially if you are using drying medication on it, is that it can stop foundation going on smoothly.
After you have put on your medication and moisturised, try a silicone based foundation primer – this will not affect your skin, but will mean that any oil free foundation that you do use will have the same effective level of coverage as the oil based ones that you were previously using.
Smashbox and Lancome both do excellent silicone primers, and I think that L’Oreal have just brought out a new one which is half the price.
Clinique are probably the best go-to for oil-free foundations which don’t harm your skin, Lancome adaptive is a good one, and Maybelline dream matte liquid is fairly decent as well.
Hope that helps – primer is key!!

Nothing will really COVER it up… i had that problem and it just got worse when i would dump crap on my face. I stopped using cover up and started using a powder and my face cleared up so fast.

try the pure concealer with the pure powder. that should look the best.
i have acne sometimes too and thast what i use and it seems like it disappears. the trick is to wash your face twice a day and never forget. when u forget the acne says: "Yeah! she forgot to wash! lets go make her mad!"
trust me i can hear them
haha
jk, good luck :)

I also have acne, mostly on my t-zone and I find that products with salicylic acid work pretty well. I think that you should go with the new Neutrogena foundations. They are oil-free and contain salicylic acid to prevent your pores from clogging. Click to see -> http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=211661&catid=107415&cmbProdBrandFilter=45274
You can get it at most drugstores and they come in natural-looking shades. Hope this helped! ;)

loreal bare natural isnt in your choices but my friends swear by it! makeup usually irritates your skin and ironically, so does washing it too much. But you need to wash it anyways and dont believe what people say about junk food. You might notice more acne around your period (if you get one) and that’s totally normal. Annoying, but normal.
Try not to pick at it and use some concealer. Perhaps you should have your doctor recommend you to a dermatologist.
