Which acne solution works better?

Salicylic acid or Benzoyl peroxide?

I have read many different things about each so this is what I have gathered:
Salicylic acid: increases the cell turnover therefore exfoliating the skin but it does not help with blackheads or whiteheads
Benzoyl peroxide: breaks up the skin cells so it helps break up the black/whiteheads but it makes the skin red.

Please tell me anything else you know because I can't decide which to try. Can they be used together? How fast does each work on acne? Which would be better for fair/sensitive skin?

  1. I used salicylic acid first and it helped a little but not that much so i had to keep putting it on the same spot numerous times which then dried it out too much
I now use benzoyl peroxide and it works really well to dry out pimples however it is very drying…i use the lowest percentage cream (2.5%) and i only put it directly on pimples…then as it leaves a dry flakey patch i put sorbelene on that area once the pimple has gone
It does also make your skin red though so I’m now looking into trying tea tree oil as a natural alternative
