What's a fast working acne body wash?

I used to have bad acne on my face, but then I went to the dermatologist and got a prescription. I don't have any acne on my face, but about a year ago it started to show up on my back, chest and neck. Since it's almost summer, I would like to look nice in my bathing suit. What is a body wash you've used that cleared your acne quickly? Thanks!
Proactiv didn't work for my face, it only made it worse. So I don't think I'll try it on my body.

  1. I wish you well in whatever choice that you make. My son had acne and I do know the distress that it can bring. Not to be taken lightly.

I also agree that you should see a dermatologist. I suggest that as welll as clearpores, you do have a look at the exposed acne product.

Also ensure that you check your diet to ensure that you are eating plenty of vegetables and fruit and also a simple tip to implement is to drink plenty of water each day.

    Good luck with your decision

  2. i would prefer clean n clear.

but pro active is pretty fast working as well

  3. Clear skin isn’t just about a medicine or a product. It’s the result of a number of things – including diet.

For starters – modify your dietary habits. Eat more lean meat, vegetables, and fruit. The vitamins in these are the building block to healthy skin.
Also drink more water. Water is what hydrates you & flushes out toxins from your body. If you don’t drink enough water, you have a toxin build up that can lead to acne.

    Other things you can do:

    1. Avoid tanning. The sun causes pores to create more oil. More oil means more acne. Over-exposure to the sun can cause skin cancer also. It’s best to cover up with an SPF30 sunblock.
    2. Wear loose, cotton clothing. Cotton breathes – other fabrics don’t. This leads to sweat & dirt build up and can cause a massive outbreak or sores.
    3. Keep your hair clean & tied up. Hair has a lot of oil in it. Oil from your hair can cause your skin to break out.

As for a regime, try this:

Invest in a good quality body scrub. I recommend either Bigelow
Chemists " Lemon Sugar Body Scrub" ($18) or 100% Pure " Blood Orange" body scrub ($18). Both can be found online, or in any C.O. Bigelow or Bath and Body Works.

Scrub with the body scrub & let it sit for 2 minutes. Rinse it off and wash immediately with a body wash containing Salycilic Acid. Try Neutrogena "Body Clear Body Wash" ($8). After that, mix 1tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of Tea Tree Oil in a 10oz spray bottle of water. Spray this on the affected area & wear a cotton tee shirt to bed.

Also: Never EVER pick your skin. This can cause scarring & infection. It will only make your skin worse, so avoid it altogether.

  4. Although there is no cure, acne treatments are available to help control breakout activity. Acne treatments are divided into three categories: topical, systemic, and procedural. The course of treatment is determined by the type and severity of acne.

Knowing your grade of acne will help you choose the most effective treatment plan. Grade I and Grade II (mild to moderate acne) can often be treated with over-the-counter products. A dermatologist must treat Grade III and Grade IV (moderately severe to severe, or cystic acne).
