What product should i use to stop breakouts?
Right now I am using the Neutrogena Wave on my face. I'm still getting pop-up zits almost every othr day. When they start to clear up, 2 more pop up. I don't have bad acne but do have blackheads. I've tried Proactiv, Clearsil, Clique, and Neutrogena Acne Cleanser. Please reccomend from experience.
I've been using the wave for 2 months now. I used proactive for about 40 days.

Glytone. Best. Stuff. Ever. I am a walking bilboard for it. I had bad acne, and even went through Accutane. The Accutane treatment kept my skin clear for about three years, and then it broke out again. I tried EVERYTHING. Clinique, Sheseido, Origins, the list goes on, and Glytone was like using a magic wand.
It’s a glycolic product. You can buy it online at http://www.dermstore.com, or skinwest.com. I’m sure other sites have it as well. You can also get it from a dermatologist’s office. You don’t need an appointment or even have to be a patient to go in and buy products. I have gotten it from two different offices, and I am not a patient at either. I typed Glytone into yahoo local, and offices that sell it pop right up.
I use the mild gel wash, and rejuvinate lotion twice a day. I started with rejuvinate step 1 at night only for the first week, and then moved to twice a day. My skin was crystal clear within a week. It will transform your skin. I seriously think it’s a celebrity secret. The first week is rough. Your skin has to build a tolerance to glycolic acid, which is why the products come in steps. I didn’t move to step 2 for about a year. It burns when you put it on, but it will go away in ten minutes or so. This means it is working! If over the counter stuff worked, we would all be walking around with perfect skin.
The mild gel wash is $28, and will last six months. A little goes a long way. I also use it on my chest and back in the shower, and it still lasts that long. The rejuvinate lotion is $38 and lasts four to five months using it twice a day. Also, you need a good moisturizer with sunscreen for the day. I use Jan Marini antioxident daily face protectant spf 30. It’s the best stuff that has ever touched my skin. It is expensive, but worth EVERY PENNY. I found it at a spa for $46. It’s a glass bottle with yellow lotion. It will last six months. This last time, I actually found some on ebay for $35. I used it at the beach last August in very intense sun and did not burn.
It’s expensive to get started, but you don’t have to replace anything for a very long time. Google Glytone and read up. It’s amazing. Good luck!!
oh, I also use an eye cream. I’m 28, and however old you are, if there is any advice I can offer, take care of your skin, you will stay looking younger. I am using Glytone eye cream, but La Roche Posay active C eyes is my favorite, I am going back to it when this one runs out. Both are around $30 and will last at least six months. It’s your face, it’s worth it!

Proactiv worked wonders on my friend.
I know you said you’ve already tried it, but it does take some time to start working. I’m wondering how long you gave it before moving on?

Proactiv worked for me and my daughters BUT you have to do all the steps everyday without skipping. You mentioned you have tried many but have you stuck with one long enough to really work? Also never sleep with makeup on. Blackheads indicate you are not cleaning face well enough. Make sure you use a cloth or scrub pad that will help to clean out your pores.

Try a peeling kit like from loreal or do a steam face wash your face good first then like just boil water and stand there in front of it let the steam touch your face after like 15 minutes clean it w alcohol in a cotton ball to close pores.

There is no one product that will take away acne. You need to do a series of steps. I used to use proactiv, but all it did was dryout and irritate my skin, and make me breakout worse. The idea behind Proactiv is good, but its too harsh. I have modeled a skin care process after it with a WAY less expensive line of products. It has helped me a lot, I only get a pimple here or there when I am stressed, but nothing like before.
Try washing with warm water and a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil. The small bottle (which last 3 or 4 months with twice daily regular use) costs less than $6 at Target. It won’t dry your skin out or irritate it, and it will feel clean and fresh.
Then use a gentle toner like Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner, this will help deep clean, really take away any leftover traces of dirt or makeup, and shrink the appearance of pores.
Then a moisturizer like Neutrogena’s 45 spf moisturizer to keep skin hydrated.
This a decent skin care regimen that wont cost over $20 and is all very gentle for any type of skin.
DO NOT use products with ALCOHOL! It will dry out your skin, then confuse it, which will make it over produce oil, which will lead to more acne. Moisturizing is key.
