What else should I do about my acne?

So I quit using the creams and gels about 2 months ago that my dermatologist prescribed me. My face has cleared somewhat but I still have acne, On my chin, cheeks and blackheads on my nose. What should I do? I want my face blemish free before school starts. I've had it since 7thgrade, I'm going to be a freshman. Help?
ALSO I've been using the creams for 2 year, but just quit. The gels/creams were harsh, and I do use bare minerals! :D

  1. Acne.org

  2. Hello..Im a sophomore and i somewhat have the same problem as you.
Number one rule is….DONT QUIT USING THE CREAMS AND GELS!
I know its hard to getting into the daily routine of washing your face with 3 diffrent kinds of creams every night and day but it does help…It may take a while but it will be worth the wait!(:
Also if the creams that were prescribed to you dont really work you can always go back to your dermatologist and ask them if they have any other creams.

Also if you do wear make up make sure to take it all off at night.
And try not to use liquid concealer…it clogs your pores crazy bad!!
Stick to powder…such as BareMinerals. They have very clean make up and covers up great!
And dont wear make up every single day!

    I hope these tips helped(:

  3. You should try proactiv, i dont have acne but i used to get tiny sweat pimples on my forehead and sometimes on my back but when i tried proactiv i dont get any of that crap anymore. For the first 7 days of using it, it seemed it make it worst but after a couple of more days it was all gone. You wont find a better product than proactiv, everyone uses it because it really does work!

  4. I suggest using blackhead strips! They come in a box, and you leave them on for about 15 minutes. It peels most of your blackheads right off! Another product I suggest using is Stridex. They are acne medicated pads that come in all different strengths. My best friend uses the 2% salicylic acid which comes in a red and white container, but I use the .5% salicylic acid with aloe that comes in a green and white container because I have more sensitive skin that she does. You can find both of these products at Walmart or Target for the cheapest price. Find what works for you!

  5. # Become well-acquainted with baking soda. Seriously, it may seem odd, but baking soda has become one of my best allies in fighting acne. Simply make a paste of baking soda and water (you want to aim for a slightly-thinner than toothpaste consistency) and rub it gently on your skin for about 30 seconds after you have used your facial cleaner. Then, rinse it off gently with warm water. While you can use this two times a day (morning and night), I recommend only using it at night, as it can irritate sensitive skin. As we all know, irritation can only make acne worse.
