Treatments for Rosacea?

My Mom suffers from a mild rosacea on one side of her face. She is taking antibiotics for it but you can't be on antibiotics forever, and I have heard that many over-the-counter facial products don't work as they are for the normal kind of acne, not rosacea. Anyone know home remedies or ones you pay for that work?

  1. Doctors usually start with an oral antibiotic and after about two months, depending on the skin, lower the dosage or stop them and follow with an antibiotic gel or cream (metronidazole) that is applied to the skin.
