Time for a new dermatologist? I've been seen him for 8 years and my acne isn't gone.?

Should I switch to a new dermatologist? I've been seen him for 8 years and my acne isn't gone. He's been prescribed various forms of tetracycline in the past few years and providing topical medications such as differn and a face wash. Are there other more effective treatments? My acne is isolated mainly to my face and consist of some blackheads and a few of the larger pimples a month. I have health insurance (if that matters).
I am a male.

fyi, aldactone controls hormone levels.

  1. Duac cream works for my cystic acne. Its a prescription, but first use a facial moisurizer, so you dont have a reaction to it. Its has worked miracles for me

  2. My dermatologist NP prescribed Aldactone and for the first time in twenty years my face looks great!!!

  3. For black heads and an occasional zit? Just try something OTC.

  4. Get yourself a treatment that works! I use Zinplex tablets, face wash & gel and it helps a lot. It has no side effects and is fairly cheap! See more at http://www.zinplex.co.za and purchase at http://www.linksfieldpharmacy.co.za It reall works and the face wash & Gel has a great fragrance!!
    Good luck
