Skincare routine for acne prone skin?
I used to have TERRIBLE acne, but now its mostly on my chin and a little on the sides of my forehead, but I still hate it.
I'm using Clean and Clear Daily Pore Cleanser morning and night with the Dual Action Moisterizer from Clean and Clear at night also. For spot treatment, I'm using Terminator 10 acne and blackhead spot treatment.
That routine seems to not make anything worse, but if it is clearing stuff up, its reallyyyyy slowly and I'm really not noticing a huge difference. I really want clearer skin when school starts up again.
What are some good drugstore products that I can try? What are some drugstore products that helped you?
Thanks xx
just a note, I have tried ProActive, and it did clear up things a little but it made my face so red and itchy I actually had to stay home from school because it was so painful. So I don't use it anymore.
About the Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask, where can you get it? Several people on this website recommended it to me, but I don't know where to get it.

I think you’re using too much products with salicylic acid / benzoyl peroxide in it, which dries out skin and may lead to more breakouts. I have sensitive, dry-combo, acne-prone skin and I’ve been using:
St. Ive’s Intensive Cream Apricot Cleanser
Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera (for my acne scars)
C&C lotion that you also use
This is just a personal reference, but I would recommend you to try a more gentle cleanser.
My skin is better than it has been since my JHS years, but it is mostly due to my healthier diet. Call it a cliche or what not, but it is really important to eat right in order to keep your skin clear. Try to eat as many fruits and vegetables as you can. In addition, I found that my daily intake of two cups of green tea has also improved my skin.
Also, I’ve been using Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Mask twice a week. This has made my skin brighter and healthier looking. I also use it as a spot treatment for my pimples.
Hope I helped!

I’m in the same situation as you.
I need help too.
I’ve been watching some youtube videos and I saw some good ones.
Just search "My skincare routine for oily/acne prone skin"
and some of them used some products in their routine that seem to be good,
and I’m willing to try them.

Try the Aveda acne skin care line, it’s very effective.

If you use too many products at the same time you could actually WORSEN your acne, and give your face a break every now and then. Because too much stress on the skin is not good. Cut off the products for a while and go natural. Use lemon juice and honey, it’s faster cheaper, and has lon lasting results. The lemon is for acne and skin discoloration( It’s a two in one)honey is so that your skin want get irritated, and adds a little moisture to the skin. Many people se moisture as a threat when having acne prone skin, but it actually helps it,but make sure it’s oil free. Make sure to drink lots of water.
