same 7 year blackhead wont go away. help?
have had same bump on my neck that my dr says is a blackhead for 7 years. i have no other skin problems, no acne. my dr has burned it and froze it, nothing works. it needs to be squeezed evry lil while or it will start to hurt. every time pure white skinny string lookin stuff comes out. What is it really? do blackheads last that long? my dr says next step is surgery to get to the root. has anyone had this problem

It is an "open comedo," commonly called a blackhead. All blackheads (and whiteheads,) form in a dilated hair follicle or pore, usually closer to the surface of the skin, making it fairly easy to get them out. When they form deep enough in the follicle (at the root,) they actually become tiny cysts. When they are this deep it can be difficult to get completely rid of them. The cyst will continue to gradually fill with oil and melanin-a and as it builds you are only able to squeeze out what is closest to the surface, (and the cyst continues to fill again and again.) At this point, your doctor will most likely have to remove it.

Have you tried Biore nose stripes? Those really help a lot. Try going to a spa and asking for a blackhead treatment.
