Question About Skin Care Routine?
I'm just wondering what the best skin care routine is.
1. A face wash, toner and moisturizer.
2. A face wash, treatment gel, acne spot treatment and moisturizer.
3. A face wash, toner, acne spot treatment and moisturizer.
4. Any of the above, as well as a face mask and/or scrub 1-3 times a week.
5. Any of the above, as well as being on the pill.
Which do you think is the best or what would you suggest? I live in Canada, and I've had acne for about 6-7 years. I'm currently using Murad (about 6-7 months). And I'm just trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong or if the products/routine is too harsh for my skin. I have sensitive, combination skin. I've tried numerous products, including proactiv, and I've been to 2 doctors several times and everything they've suggested hasn't worked. I'm just looking for some ideas of what people think is the best. Any suggestions would be WONDERFUL!!!
Thanks :)

There is no "best" skincare or miracle skincare routine.. what may work for someone else might not work on you, even if you have the same skin type or conditions. I guess it’s just a matter of trial and error.
I think Murad is a pretty good line, but since it isn’t working for you, you might want to try something else. I use Clinique, its the only thing that’s helped me get rid of my acne. Even though my esthetics teachers dont really recommend it becasue it can be a little drying, i still love it.
Another line to try is Bioelements.. plus it’s professional! They have a bunch of products formulated especially for acne.. So does GM Collin.. their products are especially mild, very good for sensitive skins. Try their puracne oxegenation products.. very good for acne!

I too have sensitive skin which goes red at the first sign of anything, but I am keeping it under control. I use a gentle cleanser, Cetaphil, no toner because it’s too harsh for my skin. When I have spots I use Benzoyl Peroxide on just the spot. I use a cleansing mask once a week, usually followed by a moisturising mask, the one from Avene for sensitive skin is good. I use a sensitive skin scrub from Lancome a couple of times a week in the shower.
Every day I use a serum, eye cream and moisturizer from Clarins which don’t aggravate my skin. The best advice I had was in Laura Mercier’s book, she said it’s better not to do too many treatments to your face, as doing too many things can be worse than doing nothing. Since I read that, I have laid off my face, and it has started to settle down.
