Question about acne treatment?

I am asking this question again because the answers I got before were either not helpful, or I wasn't sure if certain treatments were reputable.

I have nodular type acne which actually hasn't been so bad lately. Now the biggest problem is that anything I use turns my face red and makes it dry. I can't use moisturizer or even water on my face without it burning or turning red. I thought about acutane, but I have no insurance and the pharmacist just told me that it costs over 1,000 dollars for a 30 day supply and the generic brand is 400 dollars. She also told me that there are a lot of lawsuits on the stuff because of birth defects, liver problems and psychotic episodes, so even if I had the insurance, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to use it. Can anyone please tell me what I can use that will help with the acne and clear up the redness?

With no luck, I've already tried:
neutrogena
clean and clear
benzoil peroxide
apple cider vinegar
baking soda
sea breeze
panoxyl
cetaphil
and just plain old spot treatment.
zitdr_02- I went to the dermatologist and she was the one who told me I would need accutane. I couldn't use it because I was breastfeeding. Now that I know more about it, I wouldn't want it anyways.
Anyone know anything about MaxClarity or AcneAce?

  1. Since I"m a dermatologist, I deal with prescription items, and not the "natural, homeopathic" treatments that many will offer you here. Since your nodular acne is now cooled down a bit, it sounds as if you could get by with some reasonably priced oral antibiotics (in fact, in my town, some pharmacies give these out FREE). In addition, a benzoyl peroxide product is often used in conjunction with the oral medicines. However, in your case, it sounds as if you might be allergic to that ingredient, which means that the majority of the over the counter medicines that you would use will make your face, dry, scaly and itchy red. I think a trip to your dermatologist would be money well spent.

  2. I’ve been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it’s at.

I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.

I’m 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.

Literally the best acne face wash I’ve ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It’s unique cause of it’s herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.

You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn’t work it will still save you butt on the return policy.

Well good luck and best wishes.
