PLEASE HELP!!! I need to get rid of acne in a week!?

I'm in a wedding next Saturday (just over a week from now) and it's the week before my period and as usual, I'm starting to break out horribly! I know from experience that it won't go away on its own before next Saturday, and I just can't seem to figure out what to do!

I'm looking for advice on spot treatments, masks, etc that I can try. I'm unable to get a facial or see a dermatologist, so any at-home solutions would be greatly appreciated!

I currently wash with Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask (3.5% benzoyl peroxide) in the morning and Noxzema Clean Blemish Control foaming wash (1% salicylic acid) in the evening.
I use the Neutrogena Cleanser/Mask as a Mask about once or twice a week.

It's the best combination I've ever tried.....but NOTHING prevents the pizza-face that happens once a month. :(
I sleep plenty, follow a healthy vegetarian diet, drink enough water, and I smile a lot. It's worked well for me so far, but I'm looking for a quicker fix ;)

I haven't heard about using calamine lotion before, but I'll definitely try it! Between that and the steaming, hopefully my skin will improve soon. :)

I used witch hazel for a couple of months, and it didn't seem to do anything extra for my skin, but I'll try it again! I totally remember what it's like to live in a humid climate....I grew up in one. I live in a dry place now, which I think helps, it's just an awful transition when I have to go to a humid place because it messes with my skin AND hair! Which reminds me, the wedding's in a humid place..... I hope all this advice works!

  1. It may sound weird but;
I normally put my face over a bowl of boiling hot water and then into a freezing cold one and the spots seem to go down over night, if you repeat it several times.
Also calomine lotion seems to help me (stuff you get for chicken pox) smear it on your face before you go to bed :)
    Hope I helped xx

  2. Try Lactocalamine. spread it over infeceted area. and leave it for overnight. it will reduce in 2-3 nights for sure. it works

  3. You need to sleep 8hrs a day. eat healty foods. drink 8glass of water a day and put a smile in your Face :)

  4. besides going to a dr… try witch hazel. I KNOW it sounds crazy but it works. I recently moved to a humid climate that caused me more breakouts (before it was the occasional pms only breakouts), and i asked the same question. So many people said to try witch hazel, I thought they were crazy. LOL but you can buy it at any drugstore or grocery store for like $2 (look where the alcohol & peroxide are) use it in the am, and in the pm everyday. try it.
also, dont wash/mask too much.. you’ll irritate your skin making things worse.
let me know how it works. I dont even bother buying astringent, etc anymore.

  5. I found that using products that are supposed to help acne ACTUALLY made mine worse!
I started with two spots and ended up face full 2 weeks after using it,, I didn’t notice this at the time and continued using them. I haven’t tried any product in a week and my skin has cleared up completely. (:

    EDIT:
By the way,, if you get spots you get stressed and when you stress you get spots.
    ;)

  6. And always stick to a daily skincare routine (cleansing, toning, moisturizing, etc.), because the you won’t get as much benefit from the product if you’re not consistent with the routine. As for the scars, you have plenty of options and what these treatment usually do is to slough off the dead skin to reveal newer skin and in turn lighten the scars. Find products that contain glycolic acid, AHA, retinol, etc. Just find out one which works for you. Another would be getting microdermabrasion or laser treatment for the scars; they’re less invasive and almost painless. I think for now, to make it look like it’s the same skin tone you just need to a good concealer. Find one that says non-comodogenic (will not clog pores) and better if it says it says it can also act as blemish-spot treatment. If the scar is still a bit red, there are concealers that have a greenish tint, sounds weird but it can actually counteract with the redness.

  7. wash your face with your cleanser and some warm water. cut two thin slices of potato. rub them around your face. leave on for about 15-20 minutes, and let the juice soak into your skin. then wash your face with cold water.

if you want, you can repeat this twice a day. but it can be quite drying, so remember to always moisturize after.

rubbing ice around you skin can also reduce the redish look.

  8. you have try products which have bleaching ingredients and will give bad conditions after long term maybe like skin cancer.please stop depending to all this products.try get himalaya products which 100% natural herbal active and the important is SAFE.get the nee facial wash+acne-prone toner+A-N-P cream and moisturising lotion.use it twice daily.the A-N-P cream is really good.it helps to reduce the pimples without living a scars.
