people who took antibiotics for acne open plz?

im a teenager and ive been suffering with acne for 2 years. at first it was really bad severe acne, and now its i guess what you can call mild acne. its totally ruining my life :( the whole summer i stayed inside because i was so embaressed. most of it is blackheads on my nose, chin, cheeks and forehead. then i think those turn into the whiteheads\pimples. ive tried everything natures cure helped a little, but then stopped. i tried murad and it just made it worse. SO DONT EVEN BOTHER SAYIN PROACTIV! i drink water all the time and take a multi vitamin. im using panoxyl-isnt working, tea tree oil soap-isnt working, clean and clear advantage-isnt working and clean and clear blackhead scrub-isnt working. IM DONE WITH OTC PRODUCTS NONE HELP! so now i want antibiotics because when i get strep and get medicine my acne clears up, but comes back in about a week or so.my point is i want an antibiotic, but NOT ACCUTANE-too harsh

is there any others YOU have used? tell me ALL about them plz :(
i dont want herbal stuff like cucumbers and crap

and NOT the whole "TOOTHPASTE ON A PIMPLE" thing
school starts in a week and i dont want to go :(

  1. hey. i used to have some prescription suff. i cant remember the name but it had 10% benzoyl peroxide and it worked great for me. i had keflex at the same time too…have you been to a dermetologist?

  2. to clear my acne i used clearasil daily acne control "clear resulsts in just 3 DAYS!!" (it works 4 real) and i also use with it daily face pads……u’r skin shoud be clear soon…but u have to like use the pads on u’r face once a day to start it and then the face wash use in the morning and then at night…..works great 4 me and ummmmmmm thats the only crap i have used it works for me!

  3. try using natures cure….its a pill that heals the inside part of your body that causes it and the other part of the treatment is a cream you rub on your face….it works really well…GOOD LUCK

  4. ok. i know u said u didnt want herbal things. but im just like u and ive tried literally EVERYTHING. including antibiotics. when i get strep and get medicine the same thing happens to me. but i use something from "Bath and Body" store. i have an oily face so i get acne no matter what. but go to bath and body and ask one of the associates to help you find a product for acne. they got me the perfect product and my acne went down immidaitly. im still getting rid of it but its not even close to what i had b4.

i use a product called : C.O. Bigelow—oily skin foaming facial wash. the company ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ (above) has many other products that do the same thing and the only difference is the skin type product. i highly recommend it. it really works!!!!

  5. go get some aloe vera gel….put it in the refrigerator….wipe ur face clean….put the aloe vera at nite time and in the morning….im 51 yrs old and have never had acne….and the aloe is why…….good luck

  6. If you have tried antibiotics and you found that the work, stick with it. OTC med never worked for me either. I did take a topical antibiotic years back for acne that was deep under my skin. It left black marks all over my face though most were not raised on the surface. My dermatologist said that you have to continue with the antibiotics even though it appears that it has cleared up because the underlying cause of acne is not only what you can see. I used the topical antibiotic for over a year and for the most part, that acne problem did not return and eventurally the marks left too.

Where I used to work, we used to prescribe antibiotics for teen with some of the worse cases of acne routinely.

Stick with it is you have seen results .

But a draw back of long-term use of antibiotics in women… yeast infections. You usually want a prescription for yeast infect medication to go along with your antibiotic prescription. OTC is a hassel.

  7. I tried antibiotics when I was a teenager, and none helped me. If you haven’t tried proactive, then do give it a chance… but since you don’t seem to want to, maybe you should go deeper.
Try changing your diet all together. I found that to be helpful for me. Eat all things fresh. You could try eating garlic since it is known to help purge your skin. The thinner you chop up garlic, the better its benefits are. And don’t cook it, that takes the benefits out. Also, don’t eat too much because you will sweat it out, and you could have fowl body odor.
You could try to detox your body. Some products like milk thistle may help to clear your liver, which could be a cause. You could also ask for a detox program to follow from your local health store. Keep drinking the water and taking your muti-vitamin.
Don’t over irritate your skin, either. Wash it once or twice a day, and use light moisturizers on your skin.
    Good luck..

  8. I need that it sucks be acne is just part of being a teenager. Please don’t let it stop you from living you life. Yes, I tried antibiotics (for about 2 wks) and Differin Gel. Those two things combined with a chemical peel and a few facials worked wonders on my skin. Ask you parent’s to take you to the doctor there are plenty of products out there to help control your acne. You just haven’t found the right one. See if you can locate a spa in your area that does facial for people with acne. Aveda is a go place to start.

  9. First go to see a dermatologist rather than a primary care physician. I am on Doxycycline whic is a more mild antibiotic that has worked great-no blood tests to go through like accutane. The other option would possibly be Retin-A which I am also using daily. My dermatologist is Dr. Obagi (don’t know if you are familiar–do a search) and has been great. I will warn on the retin-a, the first few weeks you will have serious peeling but it completely subsides after about 3-4 weeks. It is truly worth going through though.

  10. You poor thing. I had a bad problem with acne too. But, mine was on my back and shoulders. Now, I know that you have tried the PanOxyl, but try it again. I went to a dermotologist for my problem and he told me that it’s never necessary to ruin your immune system with antibiotics when there are less harsh cures for acne. He told me to use Lever 2000 soap to wash my entire body with, even my face. Then to use an oil free moisturizer. After that soaks in use the PanOxyl. Maybe your problem is that you are trying too many things and not being patient enough to let one product kick in to work. That is just going to irritate your skin a lot more. I know it is embarrassing, but you just need to give it time. There is no overnight cure. It sucks, but you just need to try one routine and stick to it for awhile before you decide to switch to something else. Keep drinking the water and maybe taking Vitamin E. It’s really good for skin, hair and nails. So then you can be gorgeous all over. Good luck and I hope this helps.

  11. I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It’s time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

    1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

    2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

  12. use clindamycine as ointment
or a dropper contains erythromycine+zinc acctate
but better for u consult a dermatologist

  13. I was in the same boat as you about 30 days ago, I was about to start Accutane because nothing else had worked. I did some research and found that Accutane is derived from Vitamin A, Accutane has extremely high amounts of Vitamin A which is why it needs to be prescribed. However, you can take pure Vitamin A on your own in healthy doses that will make a difference in your skin. I went to GNC last month and bought 3 bottles of 100 capsules of Vitamin A 10,000 IU ($2.50 per bottle), I take 10 a day (Accutane has 300,000 IU or more per pill) and it has made a huge difference in my skin. I read all about Vitamin A toxicity and found out that a person my age (24) can take up to 100,000 IU per day for six months without causing bodily damage. You might want to try it, but make sure you only do it for six months at a time. Good luck.
