Need advice on getting rid of my acne?

Hell, i am 16 years old and I have had acne since i was 13, but it started getting worse from 14-16. The acne is mostly on the sides of my cheeks next to my side burns and on my arms and a little on my back.I tried proactiv but i found out i am allergic to benzoly peroxide. I tried acne face wash with Salicylic acid and spot treatment with Salicylic acid but they have not helped much. I drink 12 8 oz glasses of water every day, i don't eat greasy foods, i workout at the gym 6 days a week, wash my face 4 times a day and shower everyday. I talked to my doctor about my acne and she prescribed me with a oral medication called Doxycycline. I have been taking Doxycycline for 5 months and have not noticed any improvement. So what am i doing wrong or is it just my age, thats what alot of people tell me. Thanks in advance

  1. ~Over washing your face will irritate it… Cut down your face washing to twice a day…

~Treat your face very gently and don’t scrub your face when washing or drying. Be gentle and softly rub when washing and pat it dry

~I don’t know if you try to pop your pimples or if you pick at them but you do not want to mess with them at all. Again it causes irritation to your skin

~Keep up your drinking water and eating healthy habits!

~Still use the prescribed medication from your doctor. Most medicines take at least 6 months to show effects

~And lastly, limit yourself to working out about 3-4 times a week. Don’t put all that stress on your body by working out almost everyday… The number one cause of pimples is stress

    GOOD LUCK!

  2. vitamin A pills help a lot

  3. i use proactiv.. ($50)
it works well for me.. but it doesn’t work for everyone
those lil scene wipes seems to work too
    and they’re inexpensive

i don’t know anything about that medication..
    so sorry about that

  4. oh. well make sure that you don’t work our 6/7 days of the week. you’re over working. you need a few days to rest. anyways. try acne products and see if it helps
