Loestrin24 & Antibiotics.?
I am on Loestrin24 to regulate my period, ovarian cysts, and acne treatment. I am almost through my first pack (will be Saturday). I was put on Antibiotics last Friday because I have Strep Throat. Ever since I went on antibiotics, my face has been breaking out like crazy. Could this be because the antibiotics have counter-acted the birth control pills? How long after I am off the antibiotics will my birth control become effective again?

That’s most likely the reason…either that, or somehow you’re allergic to the antibiotic, and it’s causing your face to break out. But some antibiotics can effect your birth control, so it will probably get better once all of the antibiotic is out of your system.
