i've been getting really bad acne, will proactiv work?
for the past maybe 6 months, i've been getting really bad acne, all over my face. i didn't change any part of my skin routine, but my face is reallyyyy bad. i wash my face twice a day with a cleanser, use moisturizer, and this spot treatment my dermatologist. gave me. although i haven't been to my dermatologist in about a year, so he would probably give me something stronger... anyway, my question is does proactiv work? should i use it, or is it just a waste of money?

To be completly honest…
Proactive works most of the time. But! If used for a long period of time it starts to be less effective for some people. Like when you take antibiotics for a long time, for everything, they don’t work as well. so go ahead and try it, and if it works that thats great. Just watch the results after about a month or 2.

I’ve used Proactiv for 2 months and it has worked great for me ,but it does not work on everyone.

Proactive is usually effective for everyone. I’ve been using Proactiv for the past two years. It has done my face wonders. My face was always constantly broken out with acne. Lots of acne. Ever since, I hardly get any pimples.
Although, Proactive may or may not be suitable for your skin type depending on what your skin type is like. But I’d say it works for most skin types. Don’t expect results too soon for using Proactive. Results for me with clearer skin took about a week or two. Keep using it regularly. And after that week or two of waiting for results to appear while still using it daily, it made my day.
One other thing, I only tend to use Proactive at night. I know that the instructions say to use it for night and day. My face gets dry very easily, so I only use it at night since it would dry my face out. Again, it all depends on your skin type. You’ll just have to experiment with it to see where I’m coming from with the whole "depending on your skin type" thing.
Enjoy! You most likely won’t regret it!
And if you do regret it, there are always stronger acne medications out there! I would recommend seeing your dermatologist again if you feel the need to.

Not sure if proactive works. I’m more into natural medicine. This is what I suggest for you.
Most importantly we all need good nutrition.Fruits, veggies, salads, fresh fruit juices, chicken, fish, brown rice instead of wht.
Avoid junk food, chocolate, fast food, soda pop, sweets etc…
Make your own fresh fruit juices. Drink grn tea 3 xs a day. Drink water (8-10) glasses a day.
Taking vitamins will help along with eating right.
#1 – Vitamin A is the most essential vitamin for a clear complexion and beautiful skin. Imagine achieving the effects of a retinol cream without the harmful side effects. Vitamin A makes that possible.
#2 – Vitamin E repairs damage to the skin and slows the aging process. It helps keep skin hydrated, making it soft and supple.
#3 – Zinc helps the body absorb vitamin A, and helps regulate vitamin E levels in the bloodstream. Additionally, it helps the immune system kill acne-causing bacteria.
#4 – Selenium helps skin retain elasticity and helps anti-oxidants work more efficiently in your system.
#5 – Magnesium is important because balances your hormones. Hormonal imbalances are one of the primary causes of acne breakouts.
These five vitamins and minerals can be combined with others such as vitamin C to achieve the perfect balance for your particular skin type. **Homemade mashed fruit facial masks and scrubs can also provide your skin with beneficial vitamins.

it works for most people.. so as long as you use it probably you should be fine… i would suggest purchasing it from a kiosk instead of phone/online.. they will tell you how to use it probably … most people see sudden break outs becuase of high stress or hormones.. and if it doesnt work for you then you have a 60 day warenity.
