is my acne treatment to much?

okay so i've developed an all natural acne treatment for myself since i cant find stuff that works for me.

first
i use a facewash in the shower. (its off brand idk if that will effect me. its from rite aid)
then i started useing witch hazel with cotton to wipe off dirt i guess.
then i put an overnight mask on called mint Julep Masque

do you think doing this would help clear my skin.? I really dont want to do my last year of high school with pimples on my face. that would look so bad in my graduation picture. :[
if you have a better treatment tell me please

  1. how often do you do this? if you do it too much then your skin will produce more oil to try and replace the good oils you are stripping off your skin, then you end up with blocked pores from excess oil production and acne.

you should be cleaning your face with mild MILD face wash no more than twice a day (morning and night)
the witchhazel should not be necessary unless you are trying to tone pores, perhaps limit this to once or twice a week MAXIMUM.

Forget the mask altogether, they are asking for breakouts. The diy home ones often open pores too much, put unnecessary fragrance on the skin which causes irritation, and takes away good natural oils from the skin which protect it, leaving your skin dry, and prone to a breakout.

If you have problem spots use something like Garnier Pure SOS Anti-Blemish Spot Pen. Just a small dot of this on your spot before bed will take care of it without harming the rest of the skin on your face.
