Ingrown belly hair, help!?

For about a year now, I've had a few ingrown hairs on my belly and it's embarrassing because they look like acne marks. I have about 4-5 scars and they are very unsightly! One of them still has an actual hair embedded beneath my skin and I don't know how to get it out. I only wax the stomach area, not shave.

I've tried exfoliating my skin and using a wash cloth but it doesn't work. I had to dig through the skin to get the other hairs out but the problem with that is that it's leaving scars.

Any home remedies or ideas? I can't afford laser treatment at the moment.

Thanks in advance. x

  1. I recommend that you try the homemade version of Tendskin. I have only tried the brand name, but it’s way overpriced for what it is. The "recipe" is:

    Solution 1:
    18 tablets uncoated aspirin, crushed
    5 oz. rubbing alcohol
    Combine.

    Solution 2:
    8 tablets uncoated aspirin, crushed
    2.5 oz. witch hazel
    Combine.

Now combine the two solutions. The aspirin will settle a bit, so shake it before use.
Apply a small amount to a cotton ball and apply to the area once per day, and after hair removal.

This makes a lot, so if you’re decent with math (or just use a measurement conversion calculator on the internet), you can figure out how to make a smaller amount to try it first.

Another trick is to use unscented roll-on deodorant, but I cannot say if it works better or as well as Tendskin.

  2. Well as soon as you notice them going into the skin get out the tweezers–4 dollars well spent. A safety pin leaves much smaller marks than other objects and I use them to get out deep under the skin acne. Usually my skin heals well, but yours sounds like it doesn’t. I would say to put some alcohol and then neosporn on it until healed. Bandaids keep the wound open longer because they trap in moisture.

  3. also try looser fitting clothes, tight waistband is probably original culprit. mederma for scars?
