im 22 and STILL getting pimples! any help?

i'm 22 years old and still have acne all over my face. they are not big gross nasty ones but those little annoying ones under the skin. i have combination skin where its oily on my forehead, t zone and chin then dry on my cheeks. occasionally i get a big painful pimple along my hairline or on my chin. i have blackheads on my nose and i wash my face daily...i wear makeup. i have used stride x, clearasil, clean and clear, biore, olay, noxema, nutragena (which gave me a serious bacterial infection), products from avon, and st. ives...different times over the past 6 years. i dont have a ton of money for like proactive or differen and like i said they are not huge pimples where i would need that stuff. any suggestions or even simple at home treatments? ive tried toothpaste and that does NOTHING! please help and no lame answers PLEASE!

  1. I have the cure to acne. You may think there is no cure but this is. I’m living proof. When I was in 8th grade (3years ago) I did this treatment called accutane. I went to a dermatologist and she prescribed it. It’s basically taking a pill everyday for 5 months, then you never have acne again. It’s amazing. I’ve been free and clear for 3 years. And I had it BAD before. Seriously it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. It was annoying going through the five months but it had its reward.

  2. Just go to the dermatologist!!
They know whats best for you, and if you have insurance, you won’t have to pay a lot for defferin..i only paid $36.

Also make sure your makeup is nonclogging and not oily.

  3. get some proactive. and guy some mineral make up.

  4. I get 24 and still get them too…or used to. I don’t mean to sound like a commercial, but I have been using birth control pills (to control hormones) and use proactive. Washing your face daily only dries it up, causing your skin to get more greasy, and it sounds like you have the same type of oily face I have. After a weeks, I started noticing a difference, as in I would wake up in the morning and my face was nice and smooth and not oily at all. I didn’t have big pimples either, but proactive levels your skin, and if you get the one with the 5 bottles, it has a "daily oil control" bottle that I love. It’s the best one!

  5. i am 21 and still have BAD acne so i sympathize with you. as far as makeup is concerned, you should make sure you are using "non-comedogenic"(sp??) ones so they dont clog your pores or i would recommend investing in bare ecentuals mineral makeup, i have been using it for years and any time i have strayed my skin has gotten worse. for skin care products, there is a product line called philosophy that sephora carries or you can just go to philosophy.com and they have an acne kit for like $47 and that is a bit of an investment as well but it includes a face wash, medicine serum, medicine cream, and a moisturizer. if you bought any of these products seperately it would be silly because they are each more than $20 by them selves. this kit works really great though. i used all kinds of topical RX creams that worked for a few months and then just stopped and this kit is at least keeping my skin stablized better than the creams did. good luck!

  6. You can use acne free. Walmart, Walgreens,CVS. It’s about $19 and it starts working the first day you use it.

  7. I use dove soap and astringent that has this stuff in it called salicylic acid

  8. I had acne as a teen, went to the doctor, he gave me some topical medicine and told me to use Dove soap and it cleared up. But the last year or so (I’m 25) my skin started breaking out again. I was experimenting with different cleansers and moisturizers, but I went back to Dove and bought the cheap Rite-Aid 10% acne medicine and I put that on every few days at night. My skin has cleared up and looks better than ever!

I think using a mild cleanser like Dove or Cetaphil will really help you out. I also use Olay Complete SPF 30 moisturizer.
