I got a chemical burn on my face from benzoyl peroxide i think…?



ok so i started using this acne spot treatment that has salycic acid and benzoyl peroxide and it chemicallly burned my face be cause its all red and it itches and its now peeling. i know i shouldnt use it anymore but its the only thing ive found that works for my acne! and i know its not the salycic acid in it because ive used a ton of other salycic acid products in the past and they havent done anything to me.sooo what should i do anout the burns?? and does anyone have any suggestions on what acne product i should use now?

  1. From my own expirence you should get some gentle mild soap and wash your face down with that then you could buy some aloe vera gel that is a really natural substance that will clear your skin up!You should also drink plenty of water

  2. You just have very sensitive skin. You’ve stated that this product does actually clear up your acne, so you shouldn’t change products. Stop using the treatment until burns go away. If it hurts, put a warm damp rag on your face to sooth it. Don’t put lotion or vaseline or oily products on your face, because they can make the acne worse. When your skin has healed, go back to using your treatment, but in smaller amounts.

  3. Hey that sux about your burn. The same thing happened to me this summer. I used oxy pads and one morning i woke up with a gigantic blister on my nose. I made the mistake of messing with it but i advise you not to touch it. I had to be very gentle with the skin and only applied vitamin e oil on it. For some reason it worked really well and helped speed up the healing. You should go on hsn.com and look for the Serious Skin Care line. They have a line for acne and it wont burn when used as directed. Good luck
