How to overcome acne? It's driving me crazy!!!?

I have mostly tiny but lots of pimples, not to mention a few big ones here and there (lots on my forehead) and on my nose, I have lots of little blackheads, it looks like a sieve! I tried lemon juice on my face, toothpaste, carrot juice on my face, more water, too many acne products to count and I'm scared to spring for an expensive treatment because I might end up wasting good money and it's like nothing will help. I can't wear makeup because I get wrinkles. Any suggestions, ppl?

  1. Ask your doctor. =] i went to mine and he prescribed a medication for me. It really works. Its called doxycycline hyclate. you can ask your doc and see what he/she says about it .

  2. You need Proactive Solutions.

  3. Hi.

I read your question concerning acne.

Acne is an age old problem that many of us go through.
(I’m in my 40′s and still get acne.)
BUT, with proper treatment (that does not cost a lot) you can control the problem and reduce future breakouts.

You mentioned that you have tried many products that do not seem to work.
While there are many products on the market, I would be very careful in choosing products you put on your face.

    Some suggestions I have are:
Talk with your family doctor about starting a prescription of, Minocycline.
I have been using this product for six months now and my acne has decreased to nearly not having it at all.
Minocycline is a pill that you take once a day, and then gradually decreasing the dosage for acne.
    I pay $12.00 for a 30 day supply.
It’s a fairly cheap acne medication.

I would stay away from putting acid products on your face.
    Lemon juice, toothpaste, crumbled asprin.
These can leave permanant red blotches on your skin.
    They have also caused scarring.

If you decide to choose a product that is costly, becareful.
Products such as the over rated Proactiv is a step by step cleansing system that takes time each morning to apply.
If you have the time, patience, and money to stay on a step by step system, you may find that your acne will decrease, but only for a short time.

Take a good look in your mirror.
What kind of skin do you have?
Oily in some areas, (nose, forhead) dry in others, (cheeks, under eye area)?
Some acne products with benzoproxide has been known to severly dry out the skin.
Most over the counter acne products have this as their leading active ingriedient.

Hormons, stress, diet, and activity can lead to acne.

I would talk with your parents about consulting a doctor.
You will find there is help in treating your acne.

    Good luck.

    Gary
