How to get rid of dark spots from acne?

I have dark spots on my face from acne, and I'm only 18. I have maybe two or three, and makeup will cover them up, but I still don't want them there. Is there any treatment out there that I can buy without spending money at the dermatologist or any home remedies?

  1. Acne

Maintain a routine. Most acne treatments take time to work. It usually takes between two and eight weeks before you see any significant improvement, so you are going to have to be patient. Once you’ve gotten your acne cleared up, it’s important to continue with the treatment that’s working so it does not return.

If all else fails, contact a doctor. Mild antibiotics that are available only by prescription can help reduce acne. Keep in mind though, that the widespread overuse (taking antibiotics when you really don’t need them or for something they don’t treat) and misuse (not taking medication for the specified amount of time) of antibiotics has led to the development of multiple antibiotic resistant bacteria. That means that the antibiotics won’t work for the things they used to (including your acne).

Keep hair off of your face if at all possible. If you want to keep your bangs, then consider taking showers regularly or keeping your forehead clean with oil-dabbing cloths / clean tissues / etc.

  2. You can use bleaching cream which can be found at Walmart (or other drugstores, I assume).

  3. When we get a pimple on our face, what’s the first thing we do? Check if we can pop it! People that are dealing with acne are usually very enthusiastic to pick and squeeze pimples in belief that they will disappear faster but this is usually not the case. What we end up with is a red and bigger lesion that can turn into a permanent imperfection: dark spot.

The obvious here is that to prevent dark spots, we have to stop picking and squeezing acne breakouts. However, this seems to be a really hard thing to do for some people. For those who can’t keep their hands away from that breakout, simply don’t pop. Instead try a natural acne cream to help control your breakouts. A cream that contains snail serum is actually a really effective way to keep acne at bay.

Tips to Eliminate Dark Spots from Acne

If you already have dark spots from acne, there are some solutions that can help even out your skin tone. These are just a few:

Lemon Juice is actually a natural skin bleacher. Make a mix of lemon juice, some honey and a bit of rosewater and dip a cotton ball in the mix. Apply on the areas you want to treat and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Then, rise with lukewarm water. If you apply this mix everyday to see results quickly.

A Face Mask made with natural ingredients found in your kitchen is also a natural way of getting rid of dark spots from acne. A simple and effective recipe is a mix of parsley, grated onion, grated cucumber and rose water. Make a ritual out of it and make the mix every week. You’ll smell like a salad, but it will definitely minimize your dark spots.

Hydroquinone in topical applications is a very well known skin whitener. It’s very effective, but it’s also known to have some side effects. A similar ingredient that’s natural and side-effect-free is Rumex Extract. Rumex Extract might not act as quickly, but it’s effective and a really good alternative to hydroquinone.

Glycolic acid peels can be done is a spa. It’s also called Alphahydroxy acid (AHA) which is normally used to treat acne scars. Basically, a chemical peel is applied to get rid of the very top layer of the skin to allow new skin to develop. The new skin layer will replace the old scarred one, reducing imperfections like dark spots and regular acne scars.
