How to get rid of Acne?

Details:
15 year old male
Had acne for about 2 years
one blackhead about the size of a small pea.
help!

I have tried Clearisil, Oxy, washing my face with special liquids, soaps, etc

I try to keep a good diet, but i know I dont get enough water and eat a lil too much sweets.

i eat the fried foods any average person would.

i get a great workout (basketball practice) about 3 times a week.

Can anyone help me naturally clear up my face? (Please no recommendations for acne care products, they do not help me at least)

Also, I have heard that salt can naturally remove oil, so every night i dip a rag is water rich with salt and wipe my face down very thoroughly, but it doesn't work? Please tell me if I have to do more with that?
First off, please no recommendations for acne control cremes/liquids/pads, because i ahve tried almost all of them.

Whoever gave me the hands-oil-face tip, you get a thumbs up.

and stop getting mad at my "stupid" salt rag, i am just trying to make myself look halfway decent, and morons like you are not helping. If you have something helpful to say WITHOUT putting me down, go ahead and say it.

  1. There are a lot of people who think they have acne but really don’t. I could be wrong but I’ll bet you began to break out on your lower cheek when you began to enter the stage of puberty. Once that began to happen you went wild with "face clearing products" which caused a bigger problem.

Here are a list of things that you should avoid at all costs:
-Lanolin (sheep skin, which does the same thing to your skin that a large piece of Reynolds Wrap would do to your oxygen supply if held over your nose and mouth).
-Mineral Oil (Natural product but sucks moister out of skin; put a cracker in a glass filled with mineral oil and one in a glass filled with water. You’ll figure out which is better)
-Soap (Made from lanolin and is highly alkaline, human skin is acidic)
-Benzynol Alcohol (This is a major irritant and will cause small cracks in the skin which allows bacteria in and there’s you breakout.)
-Petroleum (Mineral Oil is a liquid form of petroleum)

Now that you know all of that, go take a field trip to your restroom and read the ingredients of what you’ve been using. SURPRISED?!?

Dermalogica would be an excellent skin care line for you to use. I think you need in this order:
Ultra Calming Cleanser, Daily Micro Exfoliate, Clinical Colloidal Cooling Masque, Multi Active toner, Active Moisturizer.

Once your skin calms down you can switch from Daily Micro Exfoliate to Skin Prep scrub.

FYI: Don’t pop any pimples, black heads cannot be seen unless they’ve been oxidized, if not then they can only be felt under the skin’s surface and is not sore to the touch. Also, if you don’t see any natural ingredients listed, that means that that product contains chemical fillers which means if you stop using it, you’ll break out like never before. There is a very popular line out on the market that is full of chemical fillers. Be very careful!!!

Use Dermalogica, you can by it at Dermalogica.com, at an Ulta store or Ulta.com

Good Luck and remember… YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!

  2. get proactiv

  3. clean and clear advantage kit

  5. well you needs LOTS Of water if you have basketball practice to keep your body hydrated.

as for a wash: try baking soda (bs) with water to form a paste and apply it to your face. leave it on for about 5-10 min. and then wash off in the shower. only do this once a day and use a mild cleanser in the morning like cetaphil with a toner (an acohol based astringent) and a GOOD moisterizer for day and night. as for spot treatments try toothpaste. :D

  6. Its not about what you eat or how much of it. Acne is really caused by oil from your hands. When you eat the greasy food you get it on your hands and its when you touch your face that you make yourself break out. I saw that on the Tyra Banks show.

  7. Proactive Babyy! <3 :D Peace.Love.Jonas.Babyy!

  8. Ok first off stop putting extra crap on your skin… including your stupid salty rag… they’ll just irritate you skin even more! second off. You can wash you face all damn day long and it won’t help your acne. It’s not what you eat or how much you exercise or your water intake… IT"S YOUR HORMONES! You are growing up and it’s a stage of life. Proactive does work…. But if you have serious acne… it’s time to see your dermatologist. Tell him everything you’ve said here and have him put you on either acutine or benzacline. They are miracle drugs for teens with acne. I used benzacline in high school and my face cleared up in two months! Acutine works amazingly well unless your in the sun all day…. that’s why i didn’t use it. Go do what I say.

  9. i exfoliate once a week with the neutrogena wave
then i use a mask that purifies and brings out all dirt/dead skin cells,etc.-Leave on for 15min.
THEN i use another homemade mask- use flour, honey, brown sugar, and a TINY bit of water
mix together, leave on for 20min,then scrub gently and rinse
i also have prescribed benzoyl peroxide 5% wash from my doctor and i only breakout once a month usually
    i have/had mild acne though

    Answer my question pleasee?

  10. wash your face daily, continue to watch your diet, get clindamyciline gel. acne is a combo of both hormones and bacteria. just dont pop them, that makes them worse.

  11. FUCKING POP IT IF ITS THAT BIG.

You have to figure out what your problem is
is the acne caused by dead skin, bacteria, or oil?

If your skin looks damaged and dry its by dead skin; you need to stop putting harsh things on your skin and only wash your face once a day with a balanced face wash and wash with just water at other times of the day.

If your skin looks shiny then its by oil; you need to use acne medications/products to keep control of the oil or use home remedies that get rid of oil. (I think lemons works, or toothpaste, peptobismol…its best to use the products though)

If you get a lot of white heads then its probably by bacteria, you need to wash your face more often.

Rubbing Alcohol does good if your face is getting acne from oil or bacteria, but will destroy your face if you’re getting acne from damaged skin.

  12. to get rid of black heads efficiently, i would try Biore Pore Strips (they’re the only ones who sell them besides CVS/walgreens brand). They work quite efficiently. but for the other ones, what i do daily is i try to sorta tweeze them. it may seen to be a lot of work, but you can really see the size of the plugger on your pore that was clogging it.

drinking more water definatly helps. try to clean your face more often if you workout more–the sweat can clog you pores, causing acne. i do my best to avoid fried foods–have been ever since i was like 4.

many ppl do stuff w/ alcohol, and they end up over-drying, which you have to REALLY AVOID, since your skin would react as ‘make MORE oil!!’ which would make more acne. try to only spot-treat w/ high strength acne treatments, like 10% benzyl peroxide.

my friend also does a thing like that w/ rosemary and alcohol, which i wouldn’t reccomend. really–stop it. if you’re damaging your skin, and you don’t realize it, you’ll pay in the long run. i would definatly stop the salt cause i really think that it can irratate your skin.

always, try your best to keep your face clear, not dead sqeeky clean, by washing 3 times a day w/ a cleanser, then toner (non-alcoholic), then facial lotion. that’s just a very standard procedure. my ma uses 7 cremes and stuff. oil absorbing sheets (such as those by Clean & Clear or CVS/Walgreens–which is the same thing!! i even compare ingredients, descriptions, where it’s made–it’s the same thing and even cheaper!! seriously–they’re the same, word for word.) really help, like a wash, but it doesn’t clean deep down or get rid of acne-causing bacteria (which benzyl peroxide does)

  13. The combination of Tea Tree Oil soap and the Clindamycin cream is the best for Acne and pimple.
For acne scars and blemishes my wife use papaya kojic and licorice base soap and cream which are available online. These work wonders. Maybe it will work on you too. Try searching it through Google ‘shopaholic’s bargains’

  14. 1) Cook oatmeal and apply on face for fifteen minutes and wash.
    2) Make a warm bath with blanch of nettle and rosemary.
    3) Apply equal amount of lemon juice and rose water with a cotton ball and wash it after haif an hour for 15 to 20 days.
