Do you have long hair? This causes a lot of back acne problems, especially when one does not wash their hair or back for a day or more. The oils on your hair cause your pores to clog and "bam" there’s acne.
A trick for acne on the back is one of the oldest in the books: get a back-brush. Wash your hair, put conditioner in (if you do so), rinse off the conditioner, then move your hair to the front of your body and use a back-brush to scrub all around your back and shoulders. You should use an antibacterial soap, like ‘Dial’ to ensure the oils are completely dissolved and washed away. This helps me sooo much with my back acne. =)
Another idea is to wear your hair up when you go to bed. This keeps oily hair (even clean hair) off a majority of your back. This helped with my back acne a LOT. This also helps with shoulder acne.
For chest acne, trying to fix it is a bit harder. To help prevent sweating (this is the main clogging agent for any acne), wear a fabric that lets your skin "breathe". Basically, lighter fabrics like cotton help to keep perspiration out of your pores. This is also good for shoulders.
Don’t touch your acne AT ALL. The oils on your fingers can only make it worse: and if you try to squeeze it, it only causes it to become more red or spread an infection. When an infection gets spread on your face, more acne appears.
Try to change your pillowcases frequently. The oils from our face and hair get on your pillow, and get re-applied there to cause acne. I recommend changing it every 5 or 6 days? Either this, or just lightly dust your pillow case with an anti-bacterial spray.
A home remedy that works, that I know for sure:
One tablespoon of lemon juice
A 3/4 cup of water
One tablespoon of oatmeal
Q-Tip
Mix the water and lemon-juice together in a bowl. After it is well-mixed, add the oatmeal. It should be a pasty substance. Take a little bit of the mix on a Q-tip and dab it on a zit. This should reduce redness and pain, but not really the size.
For added power, you can add baking soda to the mix. This dries out the zit faster.
When using this remedy, don’t put it anywhere EXCEPT the zit. Otherwise, that skin will get dried out too and make it irritated.
I hope I helped a little bit. Remember, sometimes confidence can over-shine imperfections, so just remember that you’re beautiful in every way. Learn to love your imperfections, and soon, they won’t be imperfections. =)
