How effective are Erythromycin Topical Solution 2% and Benzoyl Peroxide Wash at treating acne?

I was prescribed both medications yesterday by my doctor for the treatment of acne and i would like to know if these two medicines are good at treating acne and which one would go first? Thanks in advance

  1. Peroxide first, then Erythro.

    I’ve used them before.

Careful with washcloths and the peroxide, it WILL bleach! Use a pillowcase you don’t care about, and don’t put your clothes on until you face is DRY!

Honestly though it only worked for a little while for me. My acne came back, and I was left in the same position as before… the ONLY thing that has worked for me is avoiding ALL dairy/milk, and soy. Read the labels of everything and go dairy and soy free for 2 weeks and see if you don’t see an improvement. My breakouts are NOTHING compared to what they were when I was consuming dairy and soy. I still have scars, but they will fade in a while. Occasionally I accidentally consume dairy or soy – and I know it within 1-2 days because i breakout right away. I wish someone would have told me about this years ago… I really suggest you trying it.

Good luck :) Acne is horrible, I hope you find what works for you!

  2. Wash first then put on the sollution and leave it on. These work pretty well for mild acne. The erythromycin is an older drug, but can be effective.
