How do I get rid of my acne?

I have a lot pimples around my forehead. The area is really oily. I wash my face with a cleanser at night, but then in the morning, I just wash it with a washcloth but without the cleanser. It seems to be working, but the acne always returns and in the afternoon, it looks like I have a ton of zits. i went to the doctor and he gave my something, but it costs since the insurance doesn't cover it. My parents won't pay for it because it costs so much. What can I do? Should I wash my face with the cleanser in the morning and night? Are there any acne treatments that you've used and worked?
My parents would pay for something like , but not !

  1. OK, first off, acne/pimples are from the oil and dirt that accumulate on your skin. One, you can wash morning and evening with soap, water and whatever acne treatment you desire. Also, VERY IMPORTANT CLUE HERE…make sure you don’t touch (in your case, your forehead) your skin so much. Whether you realize it or not, your hands are not generally clean all the time, unless you are washing your hands every 2 hours, all day long. People tend to touch their faces more often than they realize. Teenagers generally do emit more oil and there is the more hormones emitted, but if you keep the facial skin drier, you can, over time, reduce the amount of acne/pimples. Maybe take up swimming (the chlorine in the pool will keep your skin drier) or spend more time outdoors, directly in the sunlight. You’ll figure out what is best for you, because there is no simple formula for everyone.

  2. proactive !!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. you could try home remedies..since u cant pay for anything. like a honey&cinnamon mixture..i heard that works.

  4. same here

my doctor prescribed me clyndomiacin topical gel i can’t really spell it
but i have the exact same problem and, trust me, using this everyday for several weeks really gets rid of all of it
and it’s cheap over the counter medicine

  5. i used neutragena in the morning and at night and i keep my face moisturized that works well too but good luck :D

  6. don’t try proactiv whatever you do it dries out your face and is expensive. Try going to your doctor and ask if you can try a birth control pill for acne called Tri-Sprintec or something like that. Also you maybe could try the generic for Keflex. Last but not least if it is not that bad you could try Acne-Free which some find works better then Proactiv and is WAY cheaper.

  7. This is what I suggest:

Mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good consistancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. These two things are very inexpensive and it’s very easy to do since there is only two ingredients.

Toothpaste is good for drying out your pimple (for some people). Put only a little bit before you go to sleep. But this is not recommended to everyone because it can make it worse.

Try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not too hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. Then, use cold water at the end to close you pores. The smaller your pores are, the less likely you’re prone to pimples. Don’t use body soaps because they dry out your skin. Don’t scrub too hard when you wash your face, because it can irritate your skin.

Zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. You can buy these almost about any large store (such as Wal-Mart or Shaws.) Have one or two tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. Drink lots of water and don’t pop you acne. Popping acne can lead to acne scars. Zinc can be found in many types of fishes.

If you have sensitive skin, don’t use make up. Some of the things in make up can clog your pores and cause pimples. Keep your hands out of your face as much as you can because you hands are full of bacteria and oils. Keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. Change you sheets because they’re are trapped with dirt, oils, etc.

An egg yoke can be used to make you pores smaller. I used this when I had pimples. Just take the egg yolk (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water. Aloe vera helps acne scars lighten and less noticeable (lemon, cocoa butter, witch hazel, and tea tree oil do the same thing). Use the gel (of the aloe plant) or the real thing.

  8. ok, i have the same problem, if you keep switching products it works way better. the problem is that your skin gets used to what ever you are using after a month. then it stop working. i have never been to a dermatologist but it you switch products and cut down on the make-up that helps. also wash your face in the afternoon as well. don’t wash it to much thought because that will dry out your skin causing it to produce more oil.

  9. * Don’t use proactiv as it dries out your skin!

1st, if you have bangs or loose hair try to keep it all pulled back by a headband or a hair tie because the oils on your hair can give you ance.

2nd. try some home remedies like i did:

I mixed 1 teaspoon lemon juice with 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder. and then I applied this paste on the pimples and wash it after 20 minutes with warm water. I did this for a couple of weeks,

However, there are other good home remedies for acne such as these:

    • Use aloe vera juice on the pimples morning and night for as long as necessary (perhaps five months or longer).

    • Make orange peel paste by grinding it in some water. Apply on and around pimples.

    • Rub garlic on and around pimples.

    • Apply fresh mint juice over the face every night for the treatment of pimples.

    • Pulverize 1/3 cup uncooked oats and then add ¼ cup of water. When it becomes the consistency of paste, apply on the pimples.

    • Apply raw papaya on swelling pimples.

  10. Okay so i have very oily skin and then it gets super dry quick so this is what you do, you get a lotion that you apply on your face every morning night and every time you get out of the shower. this takes care of both the oily and dry skin. thats to actually keep your face clean. then you get zits away you find a gel perscription like differn which i use and it works good just find good creme and dab it on your zits then wait and put neosporin on top of that. The next morning it will be smaller or gone! It works a swear by it
