How do I get rid of my acne?

I don't have very bad acne - mostly just blackheads on my cheeks, forehead, nose, and sometimes chin. I'm allergic to Clearasil Ultra Acne Cream; it reddens my acne and makes it stand out more. Clearasil Daily Face Wash doesn't seem to have any effect, nor does Proactiv Sulfur Face Mask (or whatever it's called). An oxygenating cleanser from a skin care specialist doesn't do anything either. The skin on my face is kind of dry. So should I try Neutrogena or Proactiv or see a dermatologist or what? (Also, I've tried Visine to cover up the acne as suggested by magazines but it doesn't work either.) I'm a 13 year old girl by the way.

  1. stay away from any face stuff w/ alcohol in it…wash w/ hot water..everyday..try a foam cleanser..best reactions..don’t experiment w/ diffrnt facial cremes.

  2. this stuff does the trick :)

  3. I have the exact same thing!

    1. in shower facial from clean & clear smoothes the skin
    2. dual action moisturizer from clean & clear gets rid of acne and dry flaky skin
    3. acne stress control foaming cleanser from neutrogena works amazing!

  4. Just wash your face with a plain soap bar twice a day with hot water and rinse with cold water.

  5. i know this sounds crazy but if you use some elmers school glue on your face it dries out as a mask its cheap and it really does the trick i was sceptical at first but tried it and it worked
    chers!

  6. My daughter had that problem and now her skin looks smooth and clear with Vanishing point 7.5 from "abrione" is the best

  7. ok i am thirteen too and i also dont have HORRIBLE acne but just a little bit here and there and i read on line for the longest time and found an at-home cure for acne with just 2 ingrediants its so simple and its not harsh and doesnt contain any harsh chemicals. all i did was mix baking soda and water into a small dish until it forms a paste. just dab some of it onto your troublesome spots. after doing this just once i noticed a difference right away! ( over night) you might think omg this is never going to work but it really does! i hope that helps :D

  8. Everyone has different skin types. So what someone may suggest to you may not always be what’s going to work best for you.

I found Neutrogen Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating Spot Gel to work best for me. A face wash that I like to use is from Clean & Clear. Its called Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub. I also like using the face wash from Neutrogen and Oil of Olay specialized for acne. I try to use astringent after washing my face. For scars i’ve used Palmer’s Cocoa Butter. Honestly, my scars aren’t as visible as before. If all else fails with what’s available on the market, you might consider birth control. That helped me out when I was going through a similiar phase. Hope this helps.

  9. There is this OAT SOAP and it is the only thing that has worked for me…

It’s all natural and it has no alcohol or anything it’s a soap for your body but it works amazing with acne…

TRY IT TRUST ME!!! AND GUESS WHAT IT ONLY COSTS 99 CENTS!!!

You can get it at anywhere like Walgreen’s or whatever

    =) trust me

  10. It’s a good thing you told us your age. What you currently have may not be very bad as you see it, but there’s always a "calm before the storm" prior to breakouts. Also, that age you’re in now falls within that phase when pimples are at their prime.

One thing you shouldn’t be without right now is PATIENCE. It’s a big deciding factor on whether your efforts to battle zits, current and future, will be successful.

It’s also a good thing that, this early, you’re already conscious about your skin issues. This will enable you to nip the problem in the bud.

It feels great to find a place like this that serves as a channel for sharing knowledge, experiences, and anything else that goes with coping with an acne-stricken life. What besets us all may be something really common, but never simple.

I look forward to a fruitful interaction with everyone here, and it’s a pleasure to join hands with you in our battle with the zit.

I have an acne-related blog that’s a work-in-progress where you might pick a thing or two from. Do check it out at:

Best regards & happy zit-busting to all,
    Yul
