How can you clear acne on your back and chest?
I went to the dermotologist because it was getting bad on my face. I have taken two different acne pills and a prescription body wash plus many over the counter products. The pills work great... on my face. My back and chest look horrible! I can't wear the shirts I want because unless the collar comes up to my neck, all you see is red pimples.
Not attractive. Is there any way to clear it up? Why does my back and chest stay so broken out when my face is controlled by the medicine?
I am using the Neutrogena Body Wash. And I use Tresemme Conditioner. I try to always wash my back and chest after I use the conditioner though so it doesn't clog my pores.

my sister has a similar problem.
a lot of the time is has to do with the hair conditioner you use.
pantene conditioner makes my sisters back and hairline break out.
but she uses lighter conditioners like: Body Envy by Herbal Escenses (spelling- i know haha) and that has helped a lot.
Also: she uses Body Clear body wash by Neutrogena.
hope this info helps!
good luck.

Your Dermatologist should be able to prescribe a cleanser and cream treatment to clean your chest and back.
There are also soaps and cleansers you can use in the shower that’re specifically for acne – sold in any drugstore.

alpha hydroxy (i’ve gotten it at Walgreens or Brooks) works well, but it CAN INTERACT with prescription wash because you can have too many agents working on your skin if you have the alpha hydroxy (peeling), body wash (probably salicylic acid %) and a scrub. plus after putting a layer of alpha hydroxy on, you sometimes need to let it absorb and put a layer of lotion on which could be too oily for you.
i’ve used just dial antibacterial and that worked well, and then a light scrub (no loofahs because they trap bacteria).
a lot of exercise, showering twice a day, and wearing breathable clothing like cotton (nothing tight or unwashed), without exposing your skin to the sun.

Try Dr. Bronner’s Magic soap in peppermint. It works great and will clear it up in 2 days. Just don’t put any lotion or moisturizer while it is clearing up. It work’s great. You can buy the soap in CVS pharmacy’s or Target.
Also try the acne solutions body treatment spray…I swear by it works!
