HELP? I have Acne on my Back and Chest area! ?

Okay, So I take a shower in hot water right.

But I heard that the hot water opens up your pores, so then your suppose to rinse with cold water after, so it will close the pores back up.

But I dont rinse with cold water tho. I just use hot water the whole time.
Does that mean the whole day im out, dirt gets into my skin?!

So is that whats causing me to have acne on my body?
If that is the reason, how long would it take till the acne goes away?

Thanks[=

p.s. It itches too. Its really irritating!

  1. Yes hot water does open up your pores but it’s not like it stays open until you rinse in cold water. It stays open for a little bit during this time you shouldn’t touch it with your hands or let your hair down on it because your hands & hair has oil which can get clogged up & become acne.

You get body acne from when you’re exercising or whatever you may be doing that causes you to sweat, the sweat gets trapped on your body because you may not be wearing breathable fabric.

Try wearing Nike-Dry fit when working out, or wear something that doesn’t cover and layer up your skin so you can prevent trapped sweat in your pores.

  2. I used to have this exact problem, so don’t worry.. you are not the only one. What I did worked great! It didn’t go away immediately but it got alot better over a short period of time! The first thing you should know is that with acne products like proactive, acnefree, etc. the acne gets worse before it gets better. This happens because it is bringing out all the "gunk" under your skin, so after it rids your body of it, it won’t come back as much as before. I used an exfoliating srub like St.Ives apricot scrub. I also scrubbed my back and chest with a body brush and a loofah, this helped alot, but be careful not to scrub to hard or else it will damage your skin. Also use an extractor ( zit popper) on bigger zits, this will get everything out of it safely, so it will heal properly and not come back, follow the extracting with a gentle toner. Also always use a good moisturizer, nothing scented, sparkly, etc. something that will really work, I have used Olay, Clean & Clear, and Clinique. These are some of the things I picked up because they were recommended from my dermatologist, so I hope they help you!

  3. No, it just means you have chest and back acne. Your pores close on their own as your skin dries, so no worries there.

Try swabbing rubbing alcohol on your chest and the places you can reach on your back in the morning after a shower and at night before bed.
Wash your sheets and pillowcases often, this is often a big culprit for body acne.
Use a loofah to exfoliate every other day, and get a body wash with salicylic acid. Clearasil makes one I’m pretty sure.
If that still doesn’t help, I tried getting a Zeno, and it really does help.

  4. Get a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Try getting a bottle that says "50% by volume" or "70% by volume" on it. It means some of it is water, so your skin won’t dry out. Apply it to the areas where you have acne 1-3 times a day with a cotton ball. Should clear you up soon.

  5. Use a loofah, bath puff, or some other sort of scrubber to put your body wash on when you shower, and rub it all over your back and chest. This worked for me.

I also read in Lucky magazine that rubbing a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol will get rid of it, but I haven’t tried it.
