Has anyone ever tried witch hazel and aspirin as an acne remedy?

So I am in dire need of a fast fast fast acne remedy! Although my skin is starting to clear up from a horrible breakout (specifically around my jaw) its just not fast enough. I have used Burt's Bees Acne Spot Treatment for a while which worked wonders... but only for a couple of months. I would stay home all day applying the spot treatment every 2 or 3 hours and the next day, no more pimples! But now I am in love with Noxzema's adult acne skincare line but I have been skipping out quite a bit. And it doesn't help that I sometimes have to run on 3 or 4 hours of sleep a day. But anyways, my question is... Has anyone ever tried using a witch hazel astringent then applied the crushed aspirin as a spot treatment? I have heard amazing things about both and at this point, I am willing to try just about anything. I need honest, informative suggestions and answers. Please no nasty bias remarks! Thanks. :)

  1. There really aren’t any fast remedies for acne, but both witch hazel and aspirin should help. They are both often recommended as part of an acne regimen, though I think the aspirin is more helpful.

Acne requires a multi-faceted approach. If you have acne clean your skin gently, try not to touch your skin when your hands are not clean, and avoid the sun.

The three basics of acne treatment are to (1) unclog pores, (2) kill bacteria, and (3) minimize oil. Use mild exfoliating cleansers to unclog your pores. Use benzoyl peroxide to kill the bacteria. Get rid of oil on the surface of your skin by using a gentle toner. Generally drug store brands will do each of these things well. You don’t need to spend a fortune.

These are all good basic skin regimens that may help with the acne battle:

Cleanse twice daily with a 5% benzoyl peroxide wash. An alternative for those who are allergic to benzoyl peroxide is 2% salicylic acid.

Apply a gel or cream containing 5% benzoyl peroxide; an alternative is sulfur or resorcinol.

At night, apply a spot cream containing sulfur to the affected areas.

Use a light skin moisturizer and oil-free makeup.

If you try all these approaches and it still does not seem to work, it is time to consult your doctor. You may need a prescription medication approach to deal with your acne.

And read the information at these sites. You may find other ideas that will help you.

  3. One of the best treatments for acne is an program that you can buy online called Acne No More. The program has been at the top of the online best sellers for acne treatment since 2004 and there are literally thousands of satisfied customers. You see not only does the program clear the acne but also the scars. It sounds to me like this is something that you should check out.

  4. Getting the most effective treatment is a priority when you have an acne breakout. The fact is, even though it may be making you self conscious, others are probably not nearly as focused on your acne as you are. Try the following acne treatments because you shouldn’t have to put up with acne.

Some nutritionists consider fresh wheatgrass juice a super food and drinking it can help clear up acne. This product is available in health food stores, juice bars, and online.

Wheatgrass is available as a supplement but it is best when drank as a fresh juice. Some people prefer to make their own at home using their own wheatgrass juicer. This can be expensive but you only need to drink an ounce a day to get the benefits. When taking wheatgrass try to avoid junk foods such as sugar because it is a powerful food that cleanses your body. This can help to clear up your acne fairly quickly, and you may find you want to keep taking the wheatgrass juice, as it has many other benefits as well. You can often cure or at least reduce acne by making changes in your diet. Certain foods, especially sugar and refined and processed foods can contribute to acne, so try to avoid things like soda, junk foods and bad fats and carbohydrates. Alcohol and caffeine can also cause acne, so cut back on these things as well. Some people report their acne being worse when they eat meat and dairy as well but, instead of cutting these things out, try simply switching to an organic brand instead. Getting more exercise can also help you to clean out your whole system, which is a way to get rid of acne. As you eat better and get more exercise it is also very important to drink lots of water. Drinking lots of water is one of the best ways to detoxify your body, which is a great way to treat acne.

Including healthy fats into your diet is a great way to naturally cure acne. Acne is basically an inflammation of the skin and fish oil (or other healthy fats) can naturally reduce it. Food cooked in olive oil, avocados, almonds, walnuts and cashews are great sources of healthy foods high in healthy Omega fats. At the same time, you should stay away from unhealthy fats, especially trans fats, which are commonly used in hydrogenated oils and most junk foods. The kinds of fats that you eat can really help or hurt your skin and eating only the healthy fats can be a great way to naturally cure your acne. Acne is a very common condition in both teenagers and adults but that doesn’t mean that you have to just live with it. When you suffer from severe acne, you need to consult a dermatologist but, if it is not severe, you can usually clear it up by yourself using the home remedies discussed in this answer for naturally curing acne.
