Good cleansers and moisturizers for dry, acne prone skin?

So I have dry skin, but it is really acne prone, and I have a lot of whiteheads and blackheads. My nose and cheeks get really red too. Currently I am using St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Cream Cleanser, and Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer. What should I use instead to moisturize my skin, but still keep my skin clear? Thanks! (:

  1. I use Nutrogena daily cleansers. My dermatologist recommended it to me. I have dry skin but an oily t-zone and I get tons of whiteheads. I use it in the shower after I’ve washed my hair so my pores are opened up to get more of the medicine in them.Try the daily cleanser specifically made for blackheads with the sea-salt in it. It smells great and works well!

As for moisturizers, try the oil-free Nutrogena moisturizers. They’ll keep your face smooth but won’t clog your pores with oil and grease!

  2. Hey Girl! Those cleansers are very strong, and could dry out your skin too much. I went to a dermatologist because my acne was horrid, and theres this stuff called CeraVe, it’s a hydrating cleanser and it hydrates your skin, but doesn’t make it oily. Its about 15 dollars at most drug stores(expensive but large and lasts a long time)The Clean and Clear Dual Action Moristurizer probably will help, or the Clean and Clear pore perfector, with 15 spf. Hope this helped! Goodluck.

  3. My advise which is also from dermatologists is to use Proactiv or Acnefree once a day to twice a day depending on your acne and always follow it up by a good moisturizer (I personal like Aveeno moisturizers, all of them are good or spend the money on an Olay moisturizer they really work for dry skin too) and that really helps. A doctor also told me to use a 10% benzyl peroxide cream (like clean and clear on areas with pimples, I do that at night before bed and it really works. Good luck!
