Does proactive really work?

So I'm a sophomore and lately I've been having some big acne problems. It used to be easy to manage but its gotten difficult. I went to a dermatologist and they gave me some treatments that haven't been working. So I'm thinking of trying proactive and i wanted to know for people who've tried it does it really work? Especially if you have really oily skin.

  1. it didnt work for me at all. u should try neutrogena clear pore cleanser and mask before u waste all that money.

  2. it works for some people.

  3. Yes it really works. you should also get the small silver bottle of stuff u put directly on the acne.

  4. It didn’t work for me. It made my skin red, oily, and I broke out really bad.

  5. sure proactive may work .. but its full of chemicals!!!
this only helps the first layer of your skin i would continue to use the product from the dermatologist or seek another opinion from a different dermatologists.. i also recomend seeing your local doctor as they can usually prescribe medication that will help

  6. I immensely dislike Proactiv on both a personal and professional level for a number of reasons, and this is why:

Proactiv’s main ingredient in the cleanser and lotion is benzoyl peroxide. While benzoyl peroxide can be great in treating acne, in Proactiv it is severely over-drying and harsh to the skin. On top of that, the toner’s main ingredient is glycolic acid, which is also incredibly drying and strips the skin of its natural oils and protective barrier. It messes with the natural pH of your skin and doesn’t even attempt to restore it. So while Proactiv is likely to dry the hell out of your blemishes and make them disappear, it creates a myriad of other skin problems to address that their products cannot fix. Proactiveattempts to answer everyone’s acne issues with the same handful of products and that’s just not going to work for all the different skin conditions out there.

  7. its like any other product out their for the face it depends what kinda skin you have i know some people that say it works great and i know some people who say it didnt do anything for them at all
it really depends on the skin and how it reacts to the product
