Does eating fried chicken really increase your acne amount?

I`m 15 years old, and my older sister has always said eating fried foods, especially chicken, makes you get more pimples, zits, and blackheads, because of the extra grease in the foods. This sounds far-fetched to me, so is it true?

  1. any greasy foods in the diet will cause acne .

    cheers !

  2. Actually, I think that any food with that much grease will increase your acne or make it worse…. But, I hate fried chicken and never eat it, and I don’t have one pimple on my face. [ :

  3. No, despite what people think. Greasy foods, and chocolates do not cause pimples. It’s all about horomones and face cleanliness.

  4. food does not give you pimples. it seems like it but when you’re stressed or excited (or just a teenager) your hormones and whatnot are running about like a chicken with it’s head cut off and that would be what causes pimples. you may tend to crave junk food (like fried chicken) and that’s why it seems like the food is what’s causing it. a good skin care regimen can help to offput what those pesky hormones do.

  5. Nope, in fact greasy foods do NOT give you pimples. People also say that chocolate causes zits, that is also false. Certain foods don’t give you acne. But if you take better care of yourself by eating better(less fried stuff), drinking more water(water helps keep the skin & body clean) & taking a multivitamin, you’ll have fewer breakouts

  6. Not really. Its usually just a hormonal thing and using astringents can help the skin…

  7. your older sis is right eating fried foods does give u pimples zits etc..
what i do is instead of frying my food my food if ti’s chicken i use lean grills that take out the fat and stuff

  8. Grease does make you have more acne.

  9. yes its true

  10. No that is a myth about fried foods, they used to say the same about chocolate, but that too has been proven wrong.
Fried chicken is not the best food for your arteries.

  11. well anything you eat that contains alot of fats, oils, sugar is not doing yr health or skin any good. Put it this way if you eat alot of garlic the smell of garlic actually sweats out of the pores of yr skin. if you have a acne problem this article has some great home remedies and more on health and skincare that might help you out

  12. of cos is not true dear, y chicken, she might as well say eat duck or fish or pork.. but eating greasy food might increase ur bad cholestrol levels, increase ur weight that might cause high blood pressure, heart prob, increase risk for kidney and diabetes problems,

pimples is cause by ur hormones changes, some ppl does have more pimples genetically, but hormones does play a part, stress, late night sleeps also contribute to abnormal hormonal changes, and of cos cleanliness,

its easy to find books on acne, web got lots of it too u can visit national skin centre’s webby, even teen kind of magazines got lots of advice for ppl who writes in,
but if the situation is kind of serious, its obvious to tell, just look into mirror or u might hav lots of remarks passed to u already u cant help but to know how bad ur skin is, den please consult doc, if not normal pimple cream in the market will do.

  13. YES!!!! It is true. Not only does fried foods (or foods with a large amount of grease) cause acne, it also causes you to gain weight. And if you eat it regularly (overtime.. meaning a few years) you will grow up to be obese.

  14. If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:
