Best facial wash/make-up for mild acne skin?
I've about had it with my skin. My acne isn't severe, but everytime that I think my face is about to clear up, it breaks out all over again. I figured when I was younger that I would grow out of it, but I am now 19 and worse off than before.
I seem to break out along the outline of my face (jawline and hairline) and rarely break out on my nose, cheeks, or chin. I've tried multiple facial washes. The majority of the acne fighting washes, such as AcneFree, dry out my skin but do help with the acne a little. Then, all of the others don't seem to help with the acne whatsoever. I lose no matter what. I either have zits or dry skin. (The Burt's Bees Peach & Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub helps with the dry skin a little.)
I'm also wondering what make-up is best for mild acne and if that might be causing me to break out? I know everyone says to use mineral make-up or a tinted moisturizer, but it doesn't cover up all my zits like liquid make-up does. I do, however, always look for oil-free/noncomedogenic make-up. Plus, with how unpredictable my skin is, I can't switch to strictly mineral make-up since my skin is sometimes dry and flaky. I'm so confused and have heard many different things: don't use acne washes; it's all about keeping your skin moisturized; toner is good; toner is bad. I just want to find a solution that is fairly cheap and balances out my skin... not too oily, not too dry. Any suggestions?
By the way, my daily routine as of right now is AcneFree 24/7 Severe Acne Wash in the mornings with Neutrogena Triple Action Toner. Then, at night I remove my make-up with Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Normal to Oily Skin. Also, about 3 days a week, I use the Burt's Bees Deep Pore Scrub and Night Creme.
Okay, thanks everyone (besides John) for the suggestions! I'll try some of them out and hopefully one will work.

My ex had horrible acne and mine was mild. I’ll start by telling you that you’re using way too harsh of products too frequently. I’ve found the best thing that worked for both of us was to apply a "mint julep" mask of any brand until it dries and washing it off with regular bar soap with no wash cloth because the wash cloth scrubs to hard on the pimples. And just follow it up with Neutrogena "Rapid Clear Acne Defense Lotion". It’s about 5 or 6 dollars in wal-mart. The mint julep is there as well and only about 2 bucks. The mint julep mask will dry the pimples out as well as blackheads and open clogged pours. The normal bar soap (i prefer irish spring, something non-moisturizing) cleans the released dirt and oil and the face lotion is great. It prevents new acne, reduces redness of existing acne, moisturizes your face without oil and you can use it as much as you feel you need it without further irritating your skin or looking "greasy".
I hope this helps you….but even if you don’t take my advice exactly, stop using the toners and scrubs because it will make your acne worse no matter what skin type. The night creams I’ve found are pretty good. Also, MURAD spot treatment works really well. BTW, the Neutrogena product I recommended also gets rid of razor burn!!!

OXY wash and all the rest of their products are amazing :)
also you can get a concealer from T ZONE that has a green on one end to get rid of the redness of spots and heal and skin coloured on other end to cover it up. its great :)
good luck :D x
