Whats the BEST acne treatment out there for teens??? I've tried acne-free, neutrogena ( the orange soap in the bottle ), cetaphyll, 3 dr perscriptions, and right now im using an aveno face wash bar. NONE of these have worked for me. And I've given them all a good 3 months, and yet, my acne is bad :( Any solutions? Whats the BEST acne treatment out there???
Thanks

I had the same trouble. I had tried everything and it only got worse. After three years and countless products that didn’t work, I read somewhere online that acne is caused by dryness. Apparently the skin goes into oil over-drive to replace what has been striped away. The excess oil ruptures the skin underneath and becomes infected. It then swells and clogs up causing a pimple. This made a light bulb go off. I ditched all of the drying products I had been using and even the oil free lotions and went for serious moisture. I use Pond’s cold cream to cleanse and remove it with a warm wet cloth. This even takes off makeup. Then I use Avon’s Nurtura (day) and Ultimate (night) to moisturize. I was worried it would make my acne worse but my skin has never looked or felt better. The deep cystic bumps I was getting have gone and never returned. Too bad I was so afraid of oil for so long! I will not let acne soap or anything comparable touch my face again. I know everyones skin is different though but this is what worked for me. I hope that helps.

Although this is expensive maybe you should try Proactiv. The face mask is amazing!! Because of my budget I had to cut back so now I just get the mask but like I said the mask is amazing!!! You really need to try Proactiv out.

Keep in mind that proactive DOESN"T ALWAYS WORK! it didn’t work for me. Clean and Clear…. try that – it’s on order for me, so we will see if it works.

proactive doesnt work,
it keeps more coming if you decide
to stop using it.
i think you should ask your doctor
about BiRTH CONTROL.
it helps the acne subside,
and hey, it also prevents births.

well depends how long you have had it and if you have any other symptoms, perhaps it is a hormone imbalance, i know of one such being associated with acne, irregular periods, and excessive hair growth. Although this may not be the case, it depends also on what kind of skin type you may have and as I said before how long this problem has been going on.
Clearasil seems to work. If not birth control pills also help.
Proactive does not work on everyone

i use clearasil cream in the bottle thing right before bed. if i leave it on the parts that are broke out for a few minutes, and then wash it off, the acne clears right up overnight.

Try the regimine from acne.org, it’s way cheaper than proactive and it’s helped me a lot. I gave proactive three chances because of the commercials but it never did anything for me, neither did aveeno, clean and clear, neutrogena, you name it…
