Best acne treatment for pustules and cysts?
After researching the different types of acne on the internet I have come to the conclusion that I have pustular acne with occasional cysts. I have acne for seven years now, and now that it has outlasted adolescents and the teen years, I think its time for it to go! I am pretty sure it has something to do with my hormones since I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I have tried every drug store brand and higher end brands of acne wash, cream, toner or spot gel and have tried systems like Acne Free and ProActive. None of these have helped in the slightest. My skin, although I have moderate-moderately severe acne and does typically oily, gets dried out VERY easily and salycylic acid and benzoyl peroxide especially irritate it. I have found sulfur and zinc to be much milder, but they have done little to help my acne. At this point I have given up hope on a topical treatment and am looking for suggestions for prescription antibiotics or medications. Accutane is my last resort, and am unable to take birth control pills due to a medical reason. My doctor is being not very helpful with this, so I have decided I will do the research then specifically ask her for that medication. Thanks you so much for your help!

Avoid eating too much sugar, and fried greasy food, it causes acne.
Take 50mg of zinc pills a 3 times a day. You will see a reduction in a week, and almost all of your acne will be gone in a month.
Remember, you must take it on a full stomach, or you will get sick.
You can buy it at a pharmacy, where vitamins are sold.

Moderate Types of Acne
Pustules: A pustule is an inflamed whitehead, usually consisting of a yellow to white head color. These can be characterized as looking inflamed and irritated, the best thing to do with a pustule is leave it alone and let it heal itself before causing further irritation.
Papules: A papule is a pustule but without a head. It is a red irritated bump. Never pop a papule as it will cause damaging scarring and tissue damage.
Treatment: Pustules and papules require the same treatment as above for whiteheads and blackheads, but require you to take more action because of their persistence. I recommend a 2.5% Benzyl Peroxide cream to calm the skin and prevent acne from forming in the first place. Go to your local drugstore and look for 2.5% Benzyl Peroxide in the acne cream ingredient list, it is quite common and easy to find.
Severe Types of Acne
Nodule: A nodule is an extreme version of a papule, characterised as being a large (1-3 cm), hard, and red bump. They can last anywhere from weeks to months, make sure to NEVER pop a nodule as it could cause it to last months longer than it would otherwise, as well as causing permanent skin damage.
Cysts: A cysts is almost the same as a nodule, but is puss filled instead of hard. It reaches the same diameter and can last the same amount of time. The same rules apply for cysts as a nodule, no squeezing!
Treatment: Severe acne requires the same steps as pustules and papules, but because of its severe nature can most likely not be cured by only these steps. It is likely you will need an oral medication called Accutane. Accutane is a high concentration of vitamin A, and a side effect of taking this high concentration is no acne or oil production. It can be very dangerous if taking incorrectly and will require you to take blood test monthly to confirm it isn’t causing any damage to the liver. Accutane is only attainable if prescribed by a dermatologist or doctor, please visit one for further information.
Taking Care of Acne Common Mistakes
Over Washing: I know it can be difficult to have your face feeling dirty and oily throughout the day at times, but washing more than twice a day will just make your acne and oily skin worst. Use a gentle acne face wash to keep irritation to a minimum.
Touching Your Face: Touching of the face is a common trait most humans naturally partake in once in a while. For an acne prone face this is a big no-no. See, your fingers produce oil just like your face does, but this oil comes in to contact with a lot more bacteria filled things then your face (keyboards, door handles, etc.) and when you touch your face with these oily fingers it transfers this bacteria filled oil onto your face, causing more acne.
Expecting Immediate Results: Face acne treatment takes time to help your acne. Instead of only giving each acne product a 2 week chance before rushing onto the next treatment, wait about 2-3 months for a conclusion on whether that product has helped you or not.

RaGS sez : Here we go again! I must have answered a dozen acne questions, and and every time I give the same answer, and every time I always get 10 points for giving a "Best Answer." So why argue with success, right! So, here goes! When I was in high school, I had acne, too. I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of those creepy, ugly zits! Well, I finally found the right cure. It was a fairly coarse-grain sandpaper! Yes! That’s right! Sandpaper! Well, I’m 60 now and guess who doesn’t have acne? You’re right! That would be me! Give it a try!

I have polycystic ovarian syndrome too. I’m 14 and yes having this will cause acne because of the male hormones.
I’m on birth control pills now, but before that I was on just female hormone pills which blocked male hormone production. could you use those maybe? they won’t work instantly though, it took 2 months for me, but it’s definitaly working.
I also use a product called Circadia. http://www.circadia.com, on there you can find a place near you which sells it because they can’t just sell it to individuals, it is quite expensive, so get some samples first if you do try, I promise it will help lol, literally nothing but this product works for me. and it’s not a stupid scam like pro-activ either, I tried that and it made my skin worse.
if you get pimples on ur body too, oxy body wash is good. it’s very cheap, and it’s made for male skin but it works really well my bacne is gone completely becaue of it.
I really hope you try some of those things because it really helped me a lot :)
