Any advice for an (unhappy) Accutane third-timer?
My first course of Accutane treatment was about three years ago. I took 40 mg twice a day for 6 months, and my acne was totally gone for almost a year after the treatment. Then it came back, although it was more manageable than before.
My second course of Accutane treatment was about two years ago. I took the same dosage--40 mg twice a day--for 6 months, and again my skin cleared, but only temporarily.
I am back on Accutane for the third time (this is currently month four). I have noticed that the medication seems to be a lot less effective than before. My skin does not feel as dry as I remember in previous courses (some days I don't even have to put moisturizer on my face... in the past I remember RUNNING for lotion because my skin felt so tight). I also remember my skin being very clear during the fourth month of the previous courses, but now, my skin still has quite a large number of pimples.
What's going on here? Can one develop a tolerance that would make Accutane ineffective? Any tips on how to maximize my Accutane results? What are my post-Accutane options for clear skin?

Once your body has too much it figures out a way to stop it. So just stop using it for awhile and then use something else like proactive
