  1. I have had acne since elementary school, and now I’m 24, almost halfway to 25. So I’m annoyed that, despite Accutane (it went away, then came back a year later), prescription and over-the-counter acne ‘remedies,’ nothing works.

I was using Proactiv, and it HELPS. It doesn’t cure it, but as long as I use it religiously, it keeps it pretty under control.

Recently, I found Proactive a bit too expensive to keep up on. So, I found a product called "Acne Free" and tried it. It worked almost as well as Proactiv. I had a flare-up as soon as I started (I think my skin had to adjust to the change in chemicals), but then it started to get better. It’s half the price, you can buy it at just about any store (Target, Rite Aid, etc), and works just as well.
HOWEVER, I just found a couple weeks ago at Target for $24 that Acne Free now has a "Severe" formula, that comes with FIVE steps.
It works REALLY well. My skin has been getting much better, and now that I’ve coupled it with not wearing makeup, my skin even seems healthier.

I do use it combined with Origin’s Spot Remover ($10/bottle…really small, but lasts a while, 2-3 months or more depending on how much and how often you use it) and with regular alcohol for oil reduction during the day.
Just be sure to use a good moisturizer as well!!

  2. hmm use neutrogena astringents or a gel called Movate With Hydroquinone Skin Lightening Cream it really works and doesnt blister ur skin =]

  3. Although it’s quite pricey and hard to purchase, I will recommend using Artistry’s Essentials Balancing Cleanser. I am 20 years old also and found that this works MUCH better than Proactiv.

  4. Clean and Clear Acne Spot Treatment. Ah-mazing! No Joke! Its about 6-7 dollars. Completely worth it!
