Acne on my chest. How to get rid of it?
I'm an 18 year old female. I started getting acne on the chest area about 7 months ago.It has also started to spread on the cleavage area. It is really annoying me. Can anyone tell me why has this happened and how can I get rid of it?

This happened to me too and I have no idea why. Unfortunately the body is a mysterious thing and hormonal changes can occur for no particular reason. One thing I noticed was that my chest seemed more oily than usual and since I only usually had a full shower every other day, the oil on my skin may have been blocking my pores and causing the spots. I tried everything to combat them, but nothing seemed to work and it drove me mental. It took me about a year to find a solution, but it’s a damn good one – Original Source shower gel. I use the lemon and tea tree version (grease-busting lemon for the oil, antibacterial tea tree for the spots). I have to use it every day or my skin may break out, but it’s been worth it. It may just be that your skin has changed and you need to wash the area more frequently. If you’d like to give it a try (it’s a pretty cheap remedy and may work for you), here’s my list of tips:
1. If you see a new spot forming (soul-destroying I know, but you cant stop it once it does) don’t pick it, touch it or try putting anything on it. Just let the miserable little beast develop – the less you fiddle with it, the smaller it will be and the quicker it will go away.
2. Don’t spray your chest with any perfumes or use any moisturisers on it at all – I can’t use them now or I break out because my stupid pores get blocked. Most irritating, but there you go.
3. Shower EVERY DAY with Original Source – don’t use a shower puff or exfoliant as you may irritate the spots. Just squeeze a good amount into your hand and rub it all over your chest for a good few minutes. It’ll leave you feeling really clean.
4. Make sure the water isn’t too hot as this stimulates oil production.
5. Finish with a cold rinse. And I mean really cold. It’ll make you shriek, but it’ll also close up your pores.
6. Every time you feel sweaty or like your chest is starting to itch or break out, wash the area.
After I started this regime, the spots I had eventually healed and no more replaced them. I am clear 95% of the time and obviously get the odd spot but it usually goes pretty quickly. It’s honestly worth a try. Good luck and I hope you’re successful as I know how annoying this is.
P.S. My acne was fairly mild – relatively small red spots that had heads, were filled with pus and got irritated very easily (yeah, they were gross). If your acne is deep or severe, there are specific body washes for acne available from Neutrogena, but they will dry out your skin. If it really refuses to go away, I’d see a doctor.

Try spetroderm or go see a dermalologist if that doesn’t work.
