Acne on chest and back — what should I be using?

I use face wash on my chest for acne there (it's mild -- tiny whiteheads and red bumps), but for my back I usually either just scrub with something like St. Ives facial scrubs or I scrub with a loofah and my regular bodywash. My bacne is worse; large, red, painful bumps. How can I eliminate both of these? I shower daily and scrub at least every other day.

  1. Well, it’s good that you’re using a a scrub. However, is it safe to assume that it’s the St. Ives scrub with salicylic acid? Because that should help with your acne…If you’re not, please use a product with that ingredient (or with benzoyl peroxide). I would also refrain from using the loofah — it may be irritating the area, and it may also be contaminated with bacteria.

If all else fails, I would suggest you visit a dermatologist.

  2. ok get a bar of soap something unscented (read the ingredients and if it has anything like parfume or anything don’t use it) just soap. it can have a clean scent but read the ingredients. and use it on your back and chest and in a week or so you should see some results. and scrub with a washcloth. trust me it works wonders (: it even lightens scars.

  3. there’s body wash for your body acne. I’ve seen them at target stores. If target has them then I’m quite sure that Walmart or other stores has them. BUT if it’s bad, you should go to your dermatologist so your Doctor can give you a prescribed medication or body wash that would match your skin type.

    hoped that helped

    God bless.

  4. Shower twice a day, morning and night. When I was breaking out on my back, I lathered Dove soap into a coarse wash cloth and SCRUBBD it. They were immediately smaller and went away in two days. :)
