ACNE. Nothing has worked. I NEED HELP!?
Please help me. I'm a 14 year old girl with oliy, acne-prone skin. I have whiteheads on my nose, forehead, and sometimes chin. I have a lot of blackhead on my nose, but I really don't care about those. I have A LOT of redness and a few acne scars.
I am SO EFFING innsecure about my skin, and I just feel very ugly because of my skin.
Not ONE thing has worked. Proactive, Obagi, Acne Free, Retin-A, Murad, and everything at drugstores. Nothing has helped. I am absolutly terrified of getting that really ugly seaver acne on my cheeks, and I think that's might start to happen, becuase I just got a pimple on my cheek.
Someone PLEASE help me.
I am desperate.

Yes, see a dermatologist! And when you go, ask if he can test whether or not it is caused by hormonal problems and if you would be able to take birth control pills for it. Well that’s if you have gotten your period yet…have you? Don’t think you can do that if you haven’t gotten it yet. Anyway, it sounds silly, but sometimes acne is caused by hormonal imbalance, and birth control will balance out your hormones. That could be the reason why no product is working well. That was the problem with me, and it’s why I break out a lot more than normal the week before my period. Sometimes the side effects of birth control are gaining a little weight…but I think it’s better to have a clear face and be a little pudgy than to be skinny with acne.
You’ll probably still have the occasional breakout cuz it won’t clear up absolutely everything, so special face washes twice a day and using other medications are still necessary. Oh and always use moisturizer after you wash your face. If you wash your face and don’t moisturize, your face will freak out that your skin is too dry and will produce even more oil! Get an oil free, non comedogenic (non pore clogging) face lotion that contains salicylic acid (for clearing up acne). You can even get oil free, non comedogenic foundation makeup and concealer that contains salicylic acid too, so while you’re covering up your acne for school it will also help to clear it up! I use Aveeno brand for the face lotion and Neutrogena for the makeup, but that’s just me. I’m sure Neutrogena makes the same type of face lotion. Almay might make its own products like this also, but I can’t remember for sure. The face wash I use is St. Ives medicated apricot scrub, because of course it’s got salicylic acid, and it is gritty and really scrubs to get rid of dead skin cells. No face wash I have ever tried has made my face feel as fresh as it does with the apricot scrub. Yeah, since they’re OTC they won’t work as well as something a doctor would prescribe, but it doesn’t hurt to use em anyway, and it’s not like your doctor will prescribe you a special moisturizer or makeup. And if he prescribes you some medication just ask if it’s okay to combine his meds with OTC salicylic ones. It should be but ask anyway.
And try not to ever touch your face unless your hands were just washed because the dirt and oils from your hands will cause you to break out more. Changing your pillow case often is a good idea too, especially if you ever drool at all during sleep. I’d change it more often than the rest of your sheets.
Good luck, I hope this helps you!

Try this simple remedy. Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne like soap. The secret of keeping the skin clear is to keep it oil-free and clean. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

Hi
This easy, effective method uses one kitchen-cupboard herbal ingredient, and calls upon the power of a warm compress to open pores and allow the healing benefits of the herb to work on blemished skin. The compress method is more comforting and quicker to use than a facial steam, but is every bit as effective.
SIMPLE SOLUTION: Here are the simple how-to instructions to help clear troubled skin:
INGREDIENTS
1 quart water
1/2 to 1 cup dried thyme leaves (for a VERY strong infusion)
1. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Remove it from the heat and add the thyme. Cover the pan and steep the mixture for 20 minutes, then strain out the herbs and discard them. Let the infusion cool to warm. (You should be able to put your hand in the infusion and keep it there for several minutes without discomfort.)
2. Soak a clean washcloth with the infusion and wring the excess from it. With your eyes closed, place the washcloth on your face for 15 minutes. Remove the washcloth from your face and apply an astringent.
go to the web site below and do a search for acne articles..theres a great one about acne and diet etc.
good luck
peace
