Acne getting worse, I dont want it to get out of hand!?
Currently using Clean and Clear every morning. I have looked around a little here and found that squeezing the pimples can make things worse. I think that might be a big problem for me because I can't stand seeing the white!
Mainly on my chin is the worst, and now its getting bad on my forehead. :( I have blackheads on my nose too. Also notice that now I get some on my chin and try to squeeze the stuff out, and it doesn't come out and it just hurts, and them gets worse by the next day.
I really need some help, these big red marks are really not helping me, being new high school, I don't feel comfortable talking to people. It seems only a few have acne and I feel so bad about it.
So I'm definitely going to stop squeezing them now, any other tips to make it go away, and stay away?
I can go buy a new face wash if that will really help, but I don't really want to buy one of those expensive treatments that you have to keep using and order, like Proactiv.
Thanks

I used to have really terrible acne. I tried everything! i even had my mother order my that expensive Arbonne stuff. I finally gave up when nothing was working and went to a dermatologist. He told me I had a skin condition that worsened my acne. Also, he told me that THE COSMETIC INDUSTRY CAN LIE TO YOU AND SAY THINGS WILL WORK WHEN THEY ACTUALLY MAY MAKE IT WORSE. There are no stipulations like advertisements for cars, or businesses who actually have to guarantee things they advertise. Cosmetic industries, including face wash etc, can put wht ever they want in the formula and sell it to you as a renovation. Clean and Clear has some products that I was told were bad for the skin and actually made you break out more. The original Nuetrogena face wash is reccomended by dermatologists. Also, hair products can clog your pores.
CONTRARY TO SOME BELIEFS
Washing constantly will make it worse. Using alcohol will irritate it more. Small spot treatments used in moderation will help. DOn’t heap it on. It’s ineffective if you do. Also dirt is not the cause of acne, it is your face’s inability to shed skin cells properly, and they get built up in the pores. Washing with a hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic cleanser will help.
Washing twice a day is very good. If you have oily skin, use a toner–it will dry up excess oil. If you have dry skin, mouisterize.
Dairy may also make you break out. Iodine in sushi, soy sauce, and shrimp is known to aggravate acne. Eat right. Veggies, and fruit, lots of water and few drinks high in sugar, and few snacks high in salt should help.
Also, hot and cold water does not open or close your pores! But washing with warm water is good. Not HOT! Your pores were given to you by your parents, as is your skin type.
I hope that helps. let me know if i did!

Stopping the squeezing is a very good idea since it aggravates the situation and could cause scarring.
First of all, just want to let you know that overwashing can irritate your skin and cause more problems. I would suggest you go see a dermatologist that can prescribe the right acne cream for you. It is faster and more effective than trying all kinds of acne treatments for yourself only to find they don’t work.
Good luck!

What i’ve found helps the most to controll breakouts is an exfoliating scrub. One with really big beads in it. At first it feels funny, but it helps remove oils and dead skin from your face. This helps get rid of the acne. I use the walmart brand Apricot Scrub, and it has worked wonders for me.
Blackhead strips can really help around the nose. :]
Lordie, don’t pick. DON’T PICK! When you squeeze the pimples, they get agitated and create MORE oil, so it just gets worse. i know it’s awful seeing the white, but wash your face 2 times a day, very thoroughly, and you’ll be fine.

There is a product called Acne Free that is basically the same as Proactive, but you can buy it in the drugstore instead of on TV. It really works well. The problem is that it can really dry out your skin, so you may have to experiment with whether your skin can tolerate twice a day use (which is the usage recommended on the box) or whether it would be better to use it just once a day (which is what I do). When I used it twice a day, my skin was so dry that it looked like I had aged about 10 years. But each person’s skin is different.
I know it’s hard not to pick at zits. But they really do go away faster when you don’t touch them at all. Also, if you use any greasy hair products, stop using them.

It’s okay, I had a acne problem too. There are a couple things that are going to help. 1- Wash your face constantly, like your doing now. Pimples form because of dirty skin. When washing your face first splash warm to hot water. Wash with soap. Then rinse with warm to hot water. And then slash with cold water. The hot water opens your pours, cold water will close them. Do this two times a day, once in morning, and after you shower. On weekends three times a day. This will help to keep dirt off your face.
2- Keep using your clean and clear.
3- Look into caring around alcohol wipes in your backpack. And wipe your face probably every other period. If you play sports, right after practice.
4- Pay attention to the foods you eat. Oily foods are terrible for your skin. Don’t cut them out, but eat them in moderation.
