Questions on my Accutane Experience?

So I am thinking about going on my third bout of Accutane. I have taken the meds all in pretty close time periods.

First time: I was a senior in high school and finished the treatment as soon as I went to college. My face was completely clear for about 6 months and then it minorly began to breakout and gradually got worse. but then by the end of my sophomore year it was very bad again.

Second Time: I do it again during the summer between my sophomore and junior year. I finish at the end of September. BUT it turns out I messed up the dosage and did not completely finish the course but I was close. Yet, my face was completely clear but once again gradually a pimple would show up, followed by another and another.

Now: I just finished my junior year..so it has been roughly 8 months and my acne is becoming a concern again.

The Question: I want to try accutane again since it is the only thing that has ever worked. But I am concerned that I am poisoning my body by repeatedly putting my body through this (although I never had serious side effects besides dry lips). SO would health concerns be an issue? AND could this cure me permanently this time. I am about to turn 21 so I am sick of Acne, lets beat it.

Last Question: Since my acne isn't absolutely horrible now do you think a stint at Accutane would be even more effective in the long term??

Love to hear the advice

best acne treatment for me?

okay this question is short, sharp and shiny. I've been using pro activ for about 3 years and it's worked wonders! It's got rid of my pimples like bam! the only problem is it has dried out my skin and made it all patchy so I want to change brands. Can you suggest a brand that is highly effective in killing pimples yet is still quite gentle so it doesn't dry out my skin? I have sensitive skin!

Does anyone know of any gentle acne solutions that work?

my skin seems to be too sensitive for benzoyl peroxide acne spot treatments. i always get a red itchy blotch around where i applied it. also, i find that serious acne cleansers with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide dry out my skin too much, which then makes it get more oily and i get more acne. =mostly i'm looking for spot treatments or facial cleansers, but anything that you've had success with on sensitive skin in the past that might be helpful? any suggestions?

What's that blackhead remover thing called?

I remember seeing my brother use it. its like a kind of tape you stick to your nose and you leave it there all morning or all day or something and then once its done he took it off and 50 million blackheads were taken off his nose and was sticking to the paper.

I don't remember if he left a warm cloth on his nose for the duration or not (i may be getting acne tips mixed up).

i can't remember for the life of me what that thing was called or what brand it was or anything.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Are laser treatments effective in reducing oiliness in skin?

I have been plagued with EXTREMELY oily skin. My makeup can't last any longer than four hours because it just slides off. Mattifying primers break me out, blotting papers are not long lasting enough, toners make my skin produce even more oil in the long run, and I can't go on accutane because I have a history of depression. I've used masks, Milk of Magnesia, washed with Cetaphil, washed with Neutrogena's salicylic acid wash, etc. I'm beyond help! I recently read an article that the laser treatments used for acne damage the sebaceous glands and reduce oil production by A LOT. Is that true?!
I wasn't asking about acne, I said OILY SKIN.

Is it alright for teens to use toners?

I'm a teen and have oily skin, I have some acne blackheads, whiteheads and have big pores. I think I have these because of my oily skin, I have read some polls online saying that my skin type should use Pond's Toner for Oily Skin. Is it alright for me to use it? I just turned fifteen this May. Don't suggest some brands though, I'm afraid they are not available here in the philippines. thank you
